Wow! That was an adventure! The guides were really cool and competent and we all made it to the top of the volcano and back. :) Unfortunately we arrived a little late at Rangitoto so we hurried up to the summit (to see the sunset) and couldn't really enjoy the environment and didn't get to know anything about it from our guide. But the view and the sunset were amazing! My absolute highlight was our kayak tour back underneath the stars and in black water with fluorescent plankton. That was magical!!
My family visited us from India and they just loved kelly tarltons. From cute penguins to giant shark and sting rays, everything was adorable.
Fascinating King penguins.
We had a wow of a time with the interaction with all the displays. My family was treated famously by the friendly staff who were so informative. Nice family time for all ages
It was nice to visit again. Some areas may need an upgrade but overall a great day with the kiddies
It’s good for a small country like New Zealand. If you’ve been to Singapore, USA etc and other countries with aquariums it’s going to look very small. There were people there not wearing masks and coughing close to my baby during red level when Omicron is in the community so it’s not recommended during this time as it’s in a small enclosed space. My baby enjoyed it.
Excelente experiencia , recomendado para ir con niños pequeños 😃
I took my 18mth old for the first time and he had the best time! We will definitely be visiting more often
Was great to see how much Kelly Tarltons had changed and our some loved seeing the penguins and going round on the travellator looking at the sharks and stingrays- a bit expensive for a big family but a great day out and something different to do in Auckland
Highly recommend for those whom have toddlers/kids obsessed with Finding Nemo/Dory. Twas my husbands first time visiting Kelly Tarltons too and he enjoyed it. Theres a playground n cafe fairly close to the entrance so be sure to have a light breakfast so you can have a heavy lunch whilst the kids run off all their energy 🤣
Always fun to come back to the aquarium.
Negatives : the travelator tanks were very dark and gloomy. No coloured fish, coral or coloured ornaments/props, just Grey fish and dark tanks. The penguins really need a larger enclosure. We stood by a window which had a few next to it and they looked very sad - reminded me of the happy feet movie. We also noticed a beautiful turtle non stop hitting the edge of the tank, maybe hoping there would be an exit. :-( The octopus REALLY needs a friend. He's so tiny and alone :-( Positives: The staff were Very FRIENDLY, especially as we took our severely Autistic nephew with us. They were understanding when he would be loud or brushed past people. The divers in the travelator tanks - thank you for taking the time to stop cleaning and wave to the kids! It was a highlight for my 5yr old. Great to see all the animals healthy and well looked after. All in all, it's a great cost effective place to spend a day with family, especially learning about our sea life. All Though i personally do not agree with animals in captivity, you can clearly see these animals are well looked after and cared for. Hopefully the next upgrade will be a big loop around tank, so the penguins and turtles can swim/play more freely, rather than being met by walls.
It was amazing experience me and my son we loved it my son had so much fun highly recommend
Great place to visit. We all loved seeing the fluffy penguin chicks. Friendly staff. The sharks and stingrays were cool to watch and all the beautiful tropical fish.
It was great experience. Must try
Fantastic day out, friendly helpful staff and plenty to see. The white out tunnel was so cool!
Excellent
Haven’t been for 14 years but can safely say nothing has changed. Fun and interesting as always and great for the family. If you haven’t been in a number of years don’t expect any change. Place does need a bit of an upgrade.
2yr old and 5 yr old really enjoyed their time at Sea Life. It was great to see their excitement at every exhibit
Great experience. Haven’t been here since I was in primary school. It’s upgraded. Don’t rush thru. Take in what’s on display & all the different sea life.
Easy going and very entertaining for kids
Exhibits were logical and some great artwork and information boards Diversity of exhibits has improved. Lots of things to support for struggling species. Penguin group looked great with 2 babies in exhibit. Lots to read, look at and interact with. Staff when on the floor seem disinterested and not friendly but keeping the facility clean with their rubbish sweepers.
The staff are very friendly and the aquarium itself is magnificent. It was a struggle looking for parking and I needed to park 500 metres away. There was also quite a crows on my visit.
We had a great time here. Such a variety of sealife and the ability to be so close is an experience like no other We will definitely come back
Great experience! The kids loved it and worth going to see.
A great morning, it was quiet and easy to remain socially distanced, all the staff were friendly and helpful. Kids absolutely love it. Highly recommend
Went there for school holidays. Kids love it! Will be back in a couple of years 😊
My kids loved it. We will be visiting again. ❤️
Happy staff & thank you Jenna for showing us the star fish and letting my daughter touch one. The turtles are so cute ❤️
We loved it
First time visiting this place and it was the best experience ever, definitely recommend x
