I really enjoyed the kayak tour in the Sound. The guide was very knowledgeable about the land and sea environment that we were touring. We saw about 8 sting rays, what a treat!
Me and my husband went on the swimming dolphin tour with Shane, Nathan and Paul and it was amazing from start to finish! Such a friendly crew! We saw some little blue penguins swimming, gannets and fluttering shear waters in our cruise. Then we saw a pod of dusky Dolphins!! The team are really good at assessing their behaviour to make sure that they want to interact and will only let you in the water when the dolphins are in a 'social' mood. We got in twice and we swam with 5 or 6 dolphins! 3 of them swimming really slowly by checking us all out; amazing!! We then spent atleast half an hour with a pod of about 15 Hectors Dolphins and a few more Dusky's playing around the boat and going right beneath us!! This was an absolutely amazing time spending this much time with them and interacting with them from the boat! Would absolutely recommend for anyone, especially if you are worried about the impact on the dolphins as these guys put the dolphins first.
We had an amazing time. Nothing was missing: sun, great team, smooth sea, and obviously the dolphins ?! We were lucky enough to swim 3 short times with a herd of bottlenose dolphins who were in the mood of being social (as they usually travel without stopping). A cup of cocoa and some cookies while watching them slide under the boat was a perfect finish to this unforgettable morning!!
Amazing experience and really interactive for my children. I was very impressed.
Well worth a visit. So interesting to see the original ship!
We arrived with young children in Picton on a rainy afternoon looking for a way to spend the afternoon. Found the Edwin Fox on bookme and decided to give it a go, I must be honest and say it didn’t really interest me but looked like something dry to do! But wow!! We ended up spending over 2 hours there, even past closing time (we didn’t even realise, we weren’t even rushed out!) the ship itself is incredible, so well preserved and facisnatingly done up to get an idea of what it must’ve been like. Great job guys!
Great to learn history about this high value treasure of NZ heritage Too hard to see a historical ship like this in the world Staff is very friendly too
A fabulous opportunity to visit and try the many fine wines of Marlborough in celebration of our girlfriends birthday, not to mention a hearty luncheon at Cork and Keg with having saved the best for last, Makana Chocolate Factory :D all the way from Pick Up at Picton all the way to Blenhiem return, our driver was awesome and totally patient with us ( my apologies I was overwhelmed with the great opportunity of someone driving us around such a beautiful country side I forgot to get his name :( ) Thank you again for the fabulous service, we will most definitely be doing this again :D
It was a perfect way to explore Marlborough region and the wineries. The driver was knowledgeable and kind. I highly recommend hop on hop off wine tours for the options of stops they had. We hopped off several stops and had an amazing mix of experiences from Aviation museum, beautiful art gallery to delightful meal and wine tasting in 3 different wineries. Would definitely explore Nelson and Queenstown next time with them.
We booked the half day tour from picton. We started at 12.00 and we're first brought to Blenheim to start the tour. The driver Gary was really friendly and explained us a lot about the different stops. We received a booklet with the bus timetables and stops. Basically you get around 40 min. Per stop. That does mean you will have to select a few places to go as you can't do them all. We stopped at Witherhills (wine tasting for 5 /10 dollar), Fromm (tasting 10/15 dollar), Cork and Keg (we expected a free tasting here but that was no longer the case, dissapointing. But nice beers anyway) and our final stop was Framingham! Tasting 5 dollar (reimbursed upon purchase of a bottle). I would recommend to do some research on where you want to stop upfront as you will have to decide without much time and info about prices etc. Overall we had a great day!
The discount we got on bookme made this outstanding value. Driver was really engaging, good conversation throughout the journey. Very knowledgeable. Bus is comfortable and there is plenty of space. All in a really good way to see the area and would definately recommend. You get about 40/45 minutes at each if you plan to get the next bus, which is long enough, or double up if you want to relax a bit. We stopped at Framington, which was excellent and a really nice space. The Vines Village, great stop for a coffee and the cheesecake was one of the highlights of the day! Moa brewing; decent beer, we had planned on eating but the food truck doesnt take non NZ card. Food looked and smelled really good though, but heads up - take cash if you want to eat here. Not an official stop but we went to Cloudy Bay which is amazing, across the road from the Allan Scott stop. Finished at Saint Clair, again really nice place, really good. All in highly recommended.
We had three children in tow and we thoroughly the whole experience. Great photo opportunities if you like finding the interesting angles, some fun props and cut outs to entertain the kids too. Don't forget to bring some change to make a donation to the upkeep too!
I would definitely recommend this one to everyone. It was something unique that I have never done before, bonus point for spotting the dolphins 🐬.
I had the most incredible time - friendly and helpful staff, knowledgable and respectful captain, and talented photographer to capture these special moments. The dolphins chose us to socialize with! We waited on the boat like an invitation to see if they were interested in playing - once they stuck around the boat, we entered the water and sang our hearts out! Two of them stayed with us - circling us, splashing and looking at us in the eye. Truly magical! I had so much fun I did the afternoon trip (although did not swim). I highly recommend it!
Great way to explore hidden bays in Queen Charlotte Sound, we saw three different kinds of dolphins who swam with the boat! Lovely way to spend an afternoon.
This was one of the best things I have done. We had two young children and the staff and guides went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly. They were knowledgeable on all the wildlife and local area, the views and scenery aren’t found anywhere else and the wildlife was everywhere. If you ever have a chance to do this cruise it would be too good to miss.
Guide was sooo kind and scenary was really beautiful. Island was soooo nice a way to go there also really great trip.
Our group of seven, old, young and inbetween all loved our trip out into the sounds. We saw penguins, seals and dolphins and the guide and captain went out of their way to ensure we got the best experience. They were friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Simply a MUST DO if you are in the area.
We had a great trip out to the Island with friendly and experienced staff. We saw some beautiful birds and were lucky enough to see three Hector’s dolphins on the way back. Very enjoyable afternoon.
Accommodating staff
