Perfect way to explore Abel Tasman by foot and boat! Went during the off season and it was beautiful and the boat had more than enough room for the passengers!
Well organised tour company, everything went smoothly from start to finish, modern boats well maintained. Can’t go wrong with Abel Tasman park, beautiful scenery and unspoiled. Need to have a moderate level of fitness to enjoy any of the walking trails.
An exceptional experience from start to finish, our guide Ella was friendly & professional, she was safety conscious throughout and gave clear instructions on how to use the equipment which didn't take anything away from having a fun day on the water. The weather undoubtedly played its part & some stunning photos were captured.
Even thought the weather wasn’t great (high winds on the coast) and we couldn’t do the entire journey to the north of the National park, it was still a nice journey on the modern boat. The staff helped explain everything really well and the commentary was good. The walks are very well signposted and not too demanding. We decided on the tour up to Tonga Quarry beach with the walk down to Medlands Beach. They allow ample time for you to walk between the drop off and pickup points (maybe a little too long if you don’t plan on having a dip). This route takes you high up into the forest following the sea along on your left. After a decent incline you begin to descend down into Bark Bay around 35mins after you begin the walk. Bark Bay is absolutely gorgeous with its water falls and swing bridge along the high tide path. You will also find basic toilets at the beginning and end of this route. It’s a good day out that we would highly recommend to anybody with the interest of walking a section of Abel Tasman without feeling rushed.
A fantastic day out from start to finish - outstanding staff who couldn't do enough for you. Made me proud to be a kiwi seeing such a slick operation showing off our beautiful country and giving everyone an outstanding experience.
Had a lovely day in the park with my family and met some nice people. Wilson's is very well organised and very professional. The boat is comfortable. The only problem was the commentary was impossible to hear inside the cabin over the engine noise and the people talking.
Wilson’s run a slick professional operation which allows you to see and be informed on many interesting aspects of the park
The Wilsons staff were all super helpful and efficient and we must make a special mention of our guide, Ruby, who was awesome and really made the day. In particular she managed a wide range of paddling abilities within the day’s group with great tact and understanding while still giving us fascinating information and guiding us to some unforgettable spots along the coast - not to mention finding seals for us to watch! Thanks for a great experience all round.
Such a fun afternoon, our guide was amazing. Really great value experience.
Great cruise Walk took us 90 minutes Loved Relaxing at bark bay
We had an unlucky day for the trip as it was one of the uncommon rainy days in Nelson, however this did not ruin anything! Felt very lucky as we saw almost noone throughout the walk and felt like we had the place to ourselves. An informative guide in Murray on the boat up the tasman to drop off point and then a maximum if 5 hours in the park. Lots of side walks to do along the way and once we got picked up at the end of the day Murray even took us out to see some seals! A super fun day and would recommend
The weather had packed up a couple of days ago which made the paths and treks muddier than usual. However that hadn't made the slightest impact on having a great walk! The Falls River Swing Bridge could only bear 5 people on it at a time and had a very graphic warning sign. It took us 4.5 hours with very leisurely/ steady pace, including lots of photo stops, lunch break and a detour to visit Cleopatra's Pool. Turned out to the be most refreshing detour with crisp, crystal clear water washing your wariness/ tiredness away towards to the end of the walk!
The Wilsons trips to able tasman are well organized and show the beauty of the able tasman NP. If you only here for one day it is the perfect option to get a glimps of the nature and what the np has to offer. In case you are really interessted in the local stories sitting inside might be required, as it is difficult to understand whats spoken on the upper deck (like on many boat tours). I made a tour including a bit of walking and they made sure all people are off at the right place.
Very friendly and informative guided tour. Cam took us to some beautiful spots. The kayak tour was at a good pace, equipments were in really good condition.
Reputable company. Excellent day out. Would highly recommend.
We spent a great day in the park!!!
It was an awesome one of a kind experience. The crew are amazing and spot on very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to the next adventure.
Perfect day with magnificent view.❤️
Was a long cruise dropping different groups all along the coast we got back to Tonga quarry at 12pm. Was a 90min walk through the high tide track, nice forest walk to bark bay then 10min to Nedlands beach for pick up at 3 back at base at 4.
We hadden een heerlijke dag in het Abel Tasmanpark. De boottrip met Wilsons heen en weer was fun. De schipper gaf informatie en voer langs de split apple rock en de zonnende zeeleeuwen.
A great way to see Abel Tasman Park and surrounds. Murray, our driver/guide, was very helpful and informative. The short walk was very good for people like myself who don't do long tramps. The forest was invigorating and there was a waterfall and beautiful beach at the end. There was plenty of time to enjoy Barks Bay before walking to the next bay for pickup.
one of the perfect day for me with the great walk and good weather. Awesome view and good staff
Booking and check in was uncomplicated. It was a sunny day so the landscape during the boat ride looked amazing! We went to medlands and walked to anchorage bay. The coastal track was not so impressive. Just up and down through the woods. We did more impressive walks in New Zealand. When there were no trees the view was beautiful. We did the low tide track. You have to take your shoes off during that track (high tide track also). We had more than 4 hours for the walk and didn’t need it. We could lay on the beach before catching the boat back to kaiteriteri.
We were fortunate enough to see a pod of dolphins and fur seals.
We had a fantastic day out to celebrate our 30th anniversary the weather couldn't have been better the staff were friendly and helpful. It's amazing being in the bush hearing only birds it was so peaceful. There was a lot of steep hills but the views were worth it.
Starting with ease of planning and follow up, then to Jim the Captain who was outstanding, and then the amazing day out. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!!! We had the best day so a massive thank you!
If you only have one day in the Abel Tasman National Park, then this is the perfect activity for you. You get a bit of everything: get up close to Split Apple Rock, a seal colony, information about the area, a cruise, a walk and a swim. The track was nice and easy. It took us around 1h40 to reach Bark Bay. The pick up point, Medlands beach, was only 500m away so we had loads of time to relax, eat some lunch and enjoy the scenery. Unfortunately, we weren't able to swim because the water was just too cold. But overall, it was very worth it!
Great experience if you’re short on time, everything was set up so you don’t get wet feet getting on and off the boat which was rather luxurious. Provided with a map, everything was very clear. The only thing that’s not obvious from the Bookme listing is that the boat leaves and returns from Kaiteriteri, that becomes clear in subsequent booking information. The time to complete the walk including Cleopatras pool was ample for us moderately fit people, we had an hour to kill while we waited for the boat so we went for a swim and enjoyed the beach at Anchorage.
First time ever do kayaking with my hubby, and we were so lucky to have such a wonderful day in Abel Tasman during Easter break after having stormy days in Auckland. The activity was wonderful, friendly guide, well-organized, relaxing for a newbie like myself .... although a bit surprise with how busy the area of Split Apple rock was that day, would be safer for everyone to arrange specific time for boats and kayaks to enter the area around the rock. Well done, Guys !!!
We absolutely loved this trip - it was a great deal and brilliant way to squeeze nearly a full day in the middle of the park in only 1 day by boating in and out. The details on the deal / website were a bit light when I booked so I was surprised to find it was more like a 9am - 4pm trip. Luckily we had extra time so it was fine. And well worth it. You board the boat in Kaiteriteri (either a launch or a small taxi depending on number of people - we had the small taxi which some didn't enjoy, and had no toilet), but it was a great calm day and the crew are just as professional and informative giving the same tour and commentary on the way. They will stop by a few sights on the way up to drop you at Medlands beach, 10mins walk to Bark Bay. You then walk the middle part of the track down to a pickup at Anchorage. There is plenty of spare time for stops on the way. You can arrange them to provide a lunch box for you or a pickup in Motueka, but I can't comment on these as we didn't use them. We'd definitely recommend this tour to get into the middle of the park if you only have a short time in the area.
Amazing trip. If you only have one day to experience the Abel Tasman NP, this trip is for you. The walk was fairly easy with few uphill. If you are fit, you can finish it in an hour and have plenty of time on the beach. The Bark Bay was beautiful and not as busy as Totatranui. There was a waterfall too. Staff were lovely as well.
I did kayak 2 days ago and it's awesome. It was winter season so only me and my friend did that half day kayak tour. Was kind if private tour! :) Sam and Sarah was our team guides and they were so nice! Always look after us and friendly explain the sites where we drop and sea ;) Definitely recommend it. It's safe to do in off season! We did not get in water. it's safe! :)
