C’était vraiment génial. Le personnel est super gentil, on a pu avoir les explications de sécurité en français. Le glacier est vraiment magnifique, c’est une expérience inoubliable ! Le temps passé sur le glacier est trop court, ça passe trop vite. Mais je recommande vivement !

We booked this flight for my husband's birthday on 8 January 2023. All of the staff at Glacier Country Helicopters were exceptional and safety standards were very high. We liked the fact that it was a family owned business. Never having been on a helicopter flight before we were all a little nervous but very excited. Weather was amazing so we were very lucky. It was an amazing experience flying in a small aircraft to these huge natural wonders and to land on it was just unbelievable. Only negative was the short amount of time we had to spend up there because once we got there it was a surreal experience. You have to do this flight regardless of the cost as it really is a once in a lifetime experience. It was great to get the discounted rate through bookme.com so we could then budget for other wonderful experiences.

Incredible views and amazing experience.

This company was brilliant. Megan contacted us prior to ask if we could amend our flight time due to imminent cloud cover so we left on an earlier time slot. Dion was our pilot who had a wealth of knowledge and made the flight the most memorable amazing experience ever! Our snow landing was spectacular- we were able to take lots of photos, play in the snow, made snow angels and snow balls etc! This has been the highlight of our holiday so far- thank you Glacier Country Helicopters

We had a great time, 35 min were perfect to see Franz Josef, Fox Glacier, Mt Tasman and even Mt Cook! The snow landing was really cool, we had enough time to take some pictures and enjoy the snow :) Highly recommend!

Awesome experience and very worthwhile. It was the highlight of the West Coast road trip for both families that flew. Service and communication from Glacier Country Heli was excellent. They were very flexible and proactive in moving our booking around to suit the weather window. Well done, top job. Absolutely fantastic flight and experience. Highly recommended! Would do it again in a heartbeat. The kids are still raving about it.

Absolutely brilliant experience! Weather was closing in fast so the pilot had to make an alternative plan for us, but we flew over the rainforest and up to land on Shackleton Glacier, then flew on over Franz Josef. Awe inspiring sight! One off the bucket list, would highly recommend. Worth every penny!

Penny is an amazing pilot and tour guide. Entire outfit is so well run. Absolutely a great experience. Loved seeing the Southern Alps & glaciers from above. Penny shared so much info about all we could see. Lucked out with perfect weather. So surprised how warm it was up on the glacier. Shared ride with 4 others, everyone was very satisfied (6 total in the heli) Worth every penny. Just book it!

The most amazing experience and a must do if you come to Franz Josef. Really can’t see the glacier much from the ground unless you do a 6hr hike. This flies over the top and then lands on the snow- it was absolutely incredible. A really experienced pilot and amazing ground crew. Can’t recommend this enough. Be aware that this activity Is weather dependent so book it early in your stay. The office were great in keeping us informed and rescheduling when it was too cloudy to fly. We were so fortunate to fly on a perfect day - Thankyou so much.

Worth every $. Lovely family run operator. This is a great experience flying up over the glacier and having 5 minutes stop on a level snow covered area before returning to base. Would thoroughly recommend.

Cool!!!

This was one of the highlight of my trip. Highly recommend it! It was once in a lifetime experience crossing the magnificent mountain range and fly above the glaciers. Our pilot Dion was amazing as well! It was a such a smooth fly. Weather was amazing as well.

This is a flight we should have done years ago! Amazing scenery seen from a unique perspective. Very well organised and flexible enough to contact us and move the flight time forward to take advantage of a break in the weather. Jay the pilot was very knowledgeable - he summed up the prevailing conditions on takeoff and tailored the flight to ensure optimum landing site and viewing sequence of glaciers and mountains. Like the rest of the team, he was also very friendly and happy to answer any questions we raised. Highly recommended!

Great pilot, stunning landscape

Absolutely spectacular views! We have taken the most amazing photos during this hike that stand out from our entire new zealand trip. This was definitely a highlight and will be something we will always remember and have the best photos to show just how amazing this experience was. We got to walk through a glacier, stand on top, see amazing views and walk up stairs of ice to even more spectacular views. The tour guide we had was JON, an american guy, super nice and friendly and explained details about the glacier, super knowledgeable and caring to making sure everyone was comfortable when walking up and down as well as explained safety measures super understandably making sure everyone was good checking us individually before we started our hike. Just an overall amazing experience. Felt super comfortable and happy. The Helicopter flight was also spectacular with amazing views and felt super safe with the way this company did everything. Highly highly recommended. I don't now how someone could not rate this heli hike a 5 out of 5.

It was amazing experience for me. I expected to walk under the glacier but we could not. This was the only thing made me a little disappointed but I understand it would happen because of the weather and some conditions. The guide and all the staff at the reception were friendly and kind.

it was truly a trip of a lifetime ... we actually walked on a glacier ... the guides were very professional . Romina was very caring and ensured that we were safe and very knowledgeable . she was passionate about her job and it showed in her work . she took the time to show us and explain how glaciers are formed . how to walk on the ice, and took the best pictures . we had a ball and wanted to stay longer .... but like they say ... What goes up must come down we will be back one day after we have saved enough money again

I absolutely loved this experience! Everything was very professional and our equipment was explained to us before we set off. The staff were lovely and the helicopter ride was only a few minutes but gave fantastic views of the glaciers and surroundings. I had Josh as a tour guide and he was super informative and friendly throughout. We got to explore some ice caves and the glaciers. There is plenty of time to stop and take photos along the way and if you have a GoPro it is perfect for the hike. I had mine on a head strap so that I didn’t need to carry it and could use both hands on the hiking Keynes to keep my balance along the way there is plenty of time to stop and take photos along the way and if you have a GoPro it is perfect for the hike. What an awesome activity! We thoroughly enjoyed our glacier hike and helicopter ride on a beautiful sunny day. Our guide, Cale, was excellent. He was super friendly, a great instructor and communicator. Not only did we feel very safe with him, but he also had a lot of knowledge about the glacier and answered any questions we had. The route we took was awesome, going through a stunning blue crevasse, past small icy waterfalls and over crunchy, slushy ice. Absolutely loved it, from the gearing up to the final walk back to base through the forest.

I loved my day on the ice with Helicopter Line. Everything was really well managed, while the guides and staff were fun to talk to and made everything really enjoyable while making me feel safe throughout the trip. Got heaps of background information about the glacier and had a solid 2 hour hike on the ice with stunning weather that day. It's definitely a once in a lifetime experience, so I'd highly recommend doing it with those guys as they do a fantastic job! Thx!
