We had a great day here.. being able to go around as menu times as u like is the bonus..!
Great place to bring the kids, the encounters are great fun and awesome to see and you learn a bit too, the staff are super friendly. Plenty of parking as well. You can spend the entire day here with just looking around to going and seeing the farm animals and also they have a great cafe on site too! Definately recommend coming here with Kids!
Book me site could of had that open times are 9.30am and didn’t face to be there at 9.30am, as slots for bookings were timed and slots taken at 11am. Travels from Cambridge and didn’t realise didn’t have to leave so early and had someone who could of come
Took myself, two toddlers, brother & sister. We enjoyed ourselves with different exhibits and the staff were great! Wasn’t too expensive either which was awesome. Will definitely be back again, kiddies loved it ✨
Great spot in Auckland for half day family outing
We took our 2 year old granddaughter yesterday and had an awesome experience. 4 hours later we left for home. From the butterfly's to the fish, dinosaurs, farm animals and the train ride the smiles and laughter were continuous. The train ride was fantastic and my video showed continuous smiles all the way round. Thank you Butterfly Creek for an amazing experience.
Great experience and kids love this place
Our 5 year old granddaughter had a ball. She loved the butterflies
Our girls aged almost 4 and 7 loved it. We last visited about 5 years ago and the place has added alot of stuff! If your child loves dinosaurs or animals it's the perfect place. They have farm animals, otters, alligators, mythic creatures area, lots of dinosaurs that make noise and move their heads, fish, reptiles and butterflies of course. Also a Cafe for guests with yummy food albeit a bit pricey and a great playground. Very good day for the family. We booked via bookme.co.nz and saved some money too. We would definitely go again. Highly recommend.
Is a very nice park to go. Kids have lot of fun. And cafe with many choices of food too. Will recommend to family and friends
Really enjoyed our day yesterday ☺️
Stated on website that covid is impacting the importing of butterflies so we were prepared that there wouldn't be many on display compared to previous visits. However there is so much to see and do at Butterfly Creek, aquariums 🐠🐟 the crocodile show🐊 farm park 🐷🐇🐐🐴and train ride with the dinosaurs 🦕 all highlights for our wee girl. Great activity easily spend 2-3hours here. Can't wait to visit again soon
We enjoyed our visit and had a great experience to the many exhibitions they have. Butterfly were rarely seen sadly but we love the kiwi house and the entrance through the aquarium.
Quite easy to get there. We preferred not to use SkyBus because it's too expensive ($18 per person) if you go from CBD by bus. We took a bus to Onehunga Train Station ($3.10 per person) and from there the bus No.380 ($1.80). All the trip took one and a half hour. In short: we spent a very nice time. Butterfly Creek isn't a big park but this is more than enough to spend a few wonderful hours in there. Butterfly Creek staff were very friendly. Food in Butterfly Creek Cafe was, surprisingly, in a great many varieties and the prices were reasonable. We would definitely recommend Butterfly Creek to visit, especially, with kids.
Good fun, my child was happy and that made me happy -food was good and experience was cool for both of us being out of towners
Our first visit. My three year old had a wonderful day. We rode the train, walked around. I think her favourite part was Buttermilk Farm and meeting Lil. Followed closely by the aquariums and crocodiles.
It was astonishing my 2yr child has never been so well behaved she loved it the train the Alligators are stunning to watch
An easy way to spend 1-2hours before you head to the airport. Gift shop was great! Butterfly house was enthralling. I wouldn’t bother eating here - especially if you have dietary issues. A couple of the cafe staff were great, a young guy couldn’t be less interested really. The cafe experience soured the enjoyment a bit.
Wow what an amazing place so much on offer! And the kids and the adults enjoyed it. Great array of animals/reptiles/butterflies. Must do if u haven’t! We will be going back!
It was very enjoyable for my daughters 6th birthday , managed to finish our trip just before the rain started. I just wish there were some food bags left as we went to go get some and the people before us purchased 6 bags and left none for the rest of us waiting with our kids. Should maybe be a limit one per person/feeder.
Wow. So much has changed and added to the aquarium and the 🐊 🐊 have grown si much bigger and larger. The last time time we was there. When a baby crocodile just been born. And was his,her birthday.as we made it I'm time. Yummie cake it was. An now was sad to see less butterflies 🦋 thou. But never mind.. the whole experience was 👌 👏 👍 😍 💖 🆒️ 👌
Loved the butterfly house. A bit misleading calling it ‘All Areas Pass’ as that is the only pass you seem to be able to buy, and it still doesn’t include everything - train ride is separate… so not sure what all areas pass really mean. Not like you can buy a pass for one area only anyway? Bit sad for some of the animals with minimal space to roam around.
I went with my Family. 3 adults, a 4yo and a baby (8m). We have been to Butterfly Creek quite a few times and this time we were disappointed with a few things (likely changes due to Covid): -the cafe a la carte menu is significantly reduced, with only very basic options -the farm indoor section is closed off, so no petting of the little animals. However, this was made up with the friendly staff at the ticket counter and the guy in the farm area bringing around the goat to pet (and feed). Also being Friday meant there was hardly anyone there, so free to roam around without waiting for anything (a bonus in these Covid times). Will probably go again once the porcupine and meerkats are there.
Lots of adventures for the kids. Love the walking Dino too!
Highly recommend this place, easy access for prams, lots of cute Dino’s, good food and friendly farm animals
Loved our outing to Butterfly Creek. Watching the eel, otter and crocodile feeds was really interesting. My daughter loved the mermaid display and play area. The little shop has so many wonderful items for sale, but are a bit pricey. Overall, it was a fantastic day out.
Definitely recommend bringing your kids here! Great place for adults as well. My son enjoyed the butterfly room!! Delicious food at the cafe as well.
We had a great time here. It’s good for young children. We went on a Friday morning and it wasn’t busy which was great. The playground at the end was awesome. Good mix of things to see.
So Dinosaur park! Flying dragoons! Room full of butterflys. Kids favorite! Train ride is fantastic just don't know the reason for separate ticket!
Fantastic place - my 3 year old had the best 2 hours! Place is well maintained and many things to look at. Train is a must do and adds to the experience too
Such an amazing magical place to take your children to learn n l Play!
Not so many butterflies this visit, but many other critters to enjoy. The kids loved the aquariums and had fun spotting the camouflaged geckos along with getting hands on with the friendly rabbits, alpacas and goats. A highlight was watching the otters having a family swim (we missed their feeding time), and a chat with the keeper of the exotic birds where we learnt about the different personalities. The crocodile feeding was also a big hit with the family and Goldie entertained us well. With a good selection of food that's not too expensive, and plenty of room to social distance, I would definitely recommend it as a great place to visit with your family.
