The island experience was fantastic. However it did not start that well. Fullers have many different points of departure and the signage was woefully inadequate. We had to ask for directions from their ticket office. Having arrived at the requested location 45 minutes before departure (as stipulated in the booking confirmation) there was nothing going on. Just standing around on the footpath. Walked down the ramp to the water, to see if there was someone or some signage, only to be told that I couldn't be there by a Fullers employee who suddenly materialised. Was very unimpressed at this point. Spent about 40 minutes standing around until we were able to board.
Once we actually got on board the day improved markedly. The island was beautiful and the guide we had extremely helpful. Saw and heard much birdlife and enjoyed the crystal clear waters.
A definite must to visit!!
The $100 from Activate Auckland was much appreciated also!
