Lake Matheson is a National Park World Heritage Area, is one of the Top five shortest walks in New Zealand, and is suitable for the whole family.

Fabulous tour with outstanding guide
We enjoyed the sunset walk discovering interesting species of NZ native plants and trees with Rose. Certainly we recommend this tour to every visitor to the West Coast!

Amazing!
Lake Matheson is a true natural beauty and I'm so glad I visited it through the eco tour. We were a small group of three people and our guide, Rose, was just great! She gave us so many information about the plants and creatures living in the surroundings and was very prepared to answer all our questions. Plus the hot chocolate and cookies in front of the lake was the best way to enjoy the amazing view. I would definitely recommend this trip! :)

Fabulous Experience
Experiencing this tour at sunset was magical. The photo opportunities of the glacial reflections in the lake were unbelievable. Having a guided tour with Cliff was fantastic and made the experience all that much better.

Perfect
Had a great experience on this tour. Cliff the guide gave good information throughout and was very amiable. Some outstanding views and photo opportunities. Gorgeous seeing the sunset too.

Gorgeous Lake Matheson tour
Our guide Ben was so knowledgeable about the plants and tiny orchids in the forest on the Lake Matheson walk that we learned a lot from him. We were blessed with good weather and have fantastic sunset views of Lake Matheson. With Ben’s advice we managed to capture some lovely photos of not only the lake but also some tiny orchids. Thank you Ben for an excellent tour.
