We proudly deliver a service & set an atmosphere that corresponds to humbler times gone by but we also keep the warmth & friendliness that will appeal to newer & global custom.

By walking around the bar & restaurant you get incensed with the feel of a former grandeur that has been revived again. We use a visual portrayal of multiple giant images of Wellington city throughout it's 140 year heritage. The aim of the establishment is simply to create an inviting, distinctive 'yesteryear' feel which sets us apart from the usual Courtenay Place fare whilst keeping in the now using features like our Stonegrill*. We think we have achieved this nicely and have become the hottest restaurant/bar/nightclub in town.

The Grand building itself was originally built in 1910. It was recently fully refurbished with its matai & jarrah floors restored to their former states. We wanted to bring a nostalgic concept to an ever changing modern city.
