Exhilarating and unique, the guided kayak fishing experience takes you through the idyllic waters of Papamoa Beach to the best fishing locations in the Bay of Plenty.

Whether you've never set foot in a kayak before, or if you're a seasoned pro, the half day kayak fishing with NZ kayaker is suitable for every experience level - and that goes for the fishing component too!

As with all fishing, it’s never a guarantee that you will catch fish...after all it's called fishing, not catching! Rest assured, your guide Tim Taylor is Tauranga's only dedicated kayak fishing guide so you’ll have the best possible chance at scoring a great catch!

Tim will be there offering the best tips, tricks, and local fishing knowledge, so that you get the very most from your time on the water - he’ll even fillet your catch so you can take it home for dinner!

All equipment and gear is provided and you’ll be given a quick run down on kayak operation before we hit the water.

Price: $199 per person

**Minimum 2 people per trip, single bookings waitlisted to confirm**

Departure: 7am at Papamoa Beach

Duration: Allow 4 - 5 hours

What to bring: Towel, water bottle, snacks, hat, sunglass , sunscreen.

 

 

Important - Please Note:

  • Customers need to be physically capable of paddling their own kayak. While our tours are designed to be easy, they do require a degree of effort so may not be suitable for people for everyone. Please contact us prior to booking if you have any concerns.
  • Customers need to have a reasonable comprehension of English. For safety reasons we need to insure all participants can understand our instructions.

  • Communication is key. If you’re running late and do not contact us, if you haven’t responded to emails or phone calls, or if you simply do not follow instructions, we may cancel your trip for the sake of everyone else’s enjoyment.

  • Please be aware that a trip may consist of multiple groups and slots can be in high demand. Once booked we may not be able to change your booking so please choose carefully.

  • Trips require a minimum of 4 passengers to run. Single bookings are wait listed to confirm.

  •  

     

    Additional info:

    Tim will fillet your catch free of charge when you get back to the beach so don't forget to bring something to put it in. A small chilly bin or cooler bag will be suitable.

    Guests need to supply own transport to get to the beach. At the time of booking, you will be emailed an information sheet including a small map on how to get there.

    Time on the water will be a mix of kayaking and fishing with total distances not expected to exceed 4km. These trips are designed to be enjoyable...not a hard-core work out.

    Reasonable level of mobility required, swimming should be proficient.

    **All catches will be measured and must comply with NZ size limits and each client will be limited to a combined bag limit of 7 fish.**

    Loved Kayak Fishing!!

    Kayak fishing was awesome!! Tim was cruisy as, I was pretty worried about kayaking in the ocean on a single kayak But he made me feel relaxed straight away. And we caught quite a few fish! Would definitely do this again both my partner and I loved it ?
