Excellent guided tour. Our guide was really good and handled our group very professionally, making the visit very enjoyable and informative. Highly recommended.
We were a little apprehensive at first about imposing on people’s lives by visiting the village they lived in, but our local guide was incredibly welcoming and said they had been inviting visitors for many years! We loved this experience and seeing how the tribe here have adapted their lives to make use of the geothermal land in this area was really cool! It was such a cute village and very impressive to see. Thank you to the tribe for letting us visit their home 😊❤️
A really interesting guided tour giving an insight of how the Maori's live in the village. Lots of information on the Maori history and culture, delivered with passion and enthusiasm by our lovely guide. After the tour, she was happy to sit and chat with me for some time about other traditions they follow. I really enjoyed it and would highly recommend.
“A good way to experience how the Māori live with geothermal activity. The tour was led by a Māori guide who lives in the village. She showed us the baths, the cooking area, and stunning views of the geysers. As we walked through the village, we learned more about Māori traditions, making the experience even more interesting. I have no regrets about visiting this place.”
