Promised so much but not met
Was really looking forward to an early dinner before hot pools. Only 3 tables occupied. Waiter not interested in being there. We ordered our meal (waterside sharing platter) quickly. 35 minutes later I approached the waiter to tell him that we were booked for the hot pools at 7pm (55 minutes time). He responded with "and". I then had to tap my watch to explain my point. Service was very slow taking into account only 3 tables in use. Parts of the Platter were tasty but other parts not so. The squid very bland and the fish bites tasted like they had been fried in old oil We weren't able to order desert due to the lack of time, so weren't able to fully utilize the voucher. Kept getting swooped by 2 sparrows that had become locked inside. He made no attempt to free them or shift our table so we were out of the flight zone

Lunch and dinner waterside restaurant Taupo
As I mistakenly booked for lunch instead of dinner we decided as it was so affordable with te 50% off we'd go for both! For Lunch we ordered the seafood platter and WOW! We couldn't fault it! Or the service plus amazing presentation on a 3 tier platter For dinner we all ordered different the chicken dish was beautiful however my husband 's fish was overcooked and I found the lab rump quite tough mainy on the ends but service once again was great and we'd certainly go again.

Great Night
Our dining experience at Waterside was awesome. The restaurant was cosy and warm on a very wet and cold night and the atmosphere was great. The service was great too with a very friendly waiter. The meals were enjoyed by everyone especially the fush and chips and lamb rump. If you don't enjoy 'rare' meat remember to ask for the rump to be cooked a little more than usual. An all round special evening celebrating with friends.
