Prepare to be amazed as you explore on foot the fascinating Champagne Pool, the steaming earth, the various hot springs and massive volcanic craters.
If you take the morning option you may also witness the daily eruption of the Lady Knox Geyser at a height of 10 to 20 metres!
Wai-O-Tapu has a range of designated walking tracks suitable for all levels of ability and each with their own unique geothermal attractions.

From Waiotapu Visitor Centre at 1pm (arriving in Rotorua at 1:30pm) and 4.45pm (arriving in Rotorua at 5.30pm)

Empfehlenswert
Da ich selbst kein Auto habe sondern auf Shuttles angewiesen bin habe ich diese Tour gebucht. Durch den Preisnachlass erhält man ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Man ist zur richtigen Zeit am richtigen Ort und der Eintritt zu Wai-o-Tapu ist inbegriffen. Wer möchte kann auch noch einen Hike in der Gegend anschließen, einfach dem Fahrer Bescheid geben und schon wird man dort abgesetzt und zu einem bestimmten Zeitpunkt wieder abgeholt. Zumindest so deren Aussage...ich wollte an diesem Tag nich wandern.

Fahrer mit ausgezeichneten Kenntnissen
Da die Busse und somit getauscht wurden, kann ich nur den zweiten Fahrer beurteilen. Er war sehr freundlich, gab unzählige Tipps und Infos und ermöglichte auch, dass man bei Whakarewarewa oder Rainbow Mountain aussteigen konnte und später von einem anderen Bus wieder abgeholt werden konnte. Fazit: Empfehlenswert.

Empfehlenswerter Ausflug mit tollem Guide
Der Trip ist auf jeden Fall lohnenswert. Schöne Landschaften und viele interessante farbige Seen. Guido hat hier auch sehr gute Arbeit geleistet und selber noch einige interessante Sachen erzählt und ging auf Wünsche ein. Alles in allem ein Must-have bei einem Neuseeland Trip.
