Discover the spectacular Maori Rock Carvings aboard a pirate-themed vessel "Sail Fearless", as you embark upon the best sailing experience on Great Lake Taupo...
The iconic Maori Rock formations at Mine Bay have long been hailed as some of the most celebrated contemporary Maori artworks in New Zealand, attracting locals and visitors alike from all over the world.
Get away from the big crowds and enjoy an intimate cruise aboard our unique, pirate-themed vessel "Sail Fearless" led by local expert - Captain Dave, as we take a thrilling journey on Great Lake Taupo to discover this fascinating cultural landmark.
Prop up a bean bag or snuggle under some blankets and have your camera at the ready to capture some of the most breathtaking views around, taking in the popular Acacia Bay and Rangatira Point en route. If you're game, try your luck at giving the crew a hand hoisting the sails or even taking a turn at the wheel!
You will be in awe upon reaching the Maori Rock Carvings embedded in the towering cliff face looming 14 meters high above. Only viewable from the water, these dramatic works are some of the largest rock art of their kind in the world and will be sure to impress!
To top off the experience, you can cool off as we take a stop for a swimming break - the longest swim stop out of any company on the lake!

Great trip, very knowledgable and happy to do some semi-serious sailing on the trip back to dock!
Awesome tour and great guide. Lots of room on the boat. Very comfy with bean bag chairs and blankets provided above deck. Got in close to the carvings and the guide was great at pointing out things that we wouldnt have seen on our own. Would absolutely recommend!
Hi Brie, thank you so much for you lovely review. We are stoked to hear that you and your family had such a great time. Cheers Dave and Jess
Cool sailing experience on a nice new boat. Skipper was friendly and encouraged everyone to get to know each other and stopped for a swim in the lake. All of us in the group enjoyed our time on the water and seeing the carvings.
Kia ora Dylan, awesome to hear you had a great experience on the boat. We love it when our customers get to know each other and have a great time together. It is all about a personalised experience . Cheers Dave and Jess
Kudos for boss and Dave ✌️?. It was a wonderful trip through the lake Taupo. Pretty long time to enjoy the lake and the view of Maori rock carving. Unlucky there was no wind for the sail.also thanks for the pissa and beer?. Must try one.

Fantastic!
It was the best. David was a great skipper and host. The pizza was great and refreshments devine. Great sailing day too! The weather Gods were with us. Great value for the money. Thanks again David! I even got to take the helm.
