What a lovely morning - beautiful and relaxing
It’s definitely worth upgrading to the deluxe spa as you’re right on the lake front and have less people in the pools. The pools were clean and hot. Loved the plunge pool. Left feeling very relaxed after 1.5 hours.
Sorry found the deluxe lake spa quite disappointing. The lounge area comfortable. the changing area ok but not as private as I thought it would be. The pools apart for the one which seems to be rather new are way too shallow and very uncomfortable with a stony bottom and just rocks here and there to sit on. Can't see the point of them really. The new pool by the side of the lake is also spoilt because of all the trees which hide the view of the lake. A visit to the normal pools is far better option with more choice of pools which are far more combatable but the whole area is very pricy. A senior discount which is offered at other pools would be appreciated. Thank you.
Thanks Christine. We appreciate your feedback. The square-shaped pool in the Deluxe area is an acidic Priest Springwater pool. It is a later edition to the area alongside the cold plunge pool. The other onsen style - designed for lying down, floating or sitting up, are rock pools, all fed with alkaline water from the Rachel Spring. It is a unique dual experience, one treats bones, joints, and muscles the other is for skin rejuvenation. Hopefully you got to enjoy the geothermally heated recliners in the area? You are right about the Pavilion Pool area catering for a deeper swim. Our regulars mostly visit this area for exercise. All other pools (in the Pavilion area) are however also sitting pools. If you were unhappy our duty manager would have moved you into the Pavilion area so that you could enjoy your stay more. We do offer a 20% discount on Pavilion Pools, 60 Minute therapies and Family Pools for all seniors. You booked through Bookme for a Deluxe Lake Spa.
The weather forecast was shocking so we decided to start our Saturday at the Polynesian Spa. We had previously visited Hamner and really enjoyed it. If you're prepared to label a product as 'delux' you need to confident in what you're selling. This was a pleasant experience and a lovely way to spend a rainy morning. However, the whole place needs updating, it's all a little tired and rough around the edges.
