Sehr cooler Ausflug!
Diese Tour war wirklich ein einmaliges Erlebnis! Man fährt zuerst eine Privatstraße hoch in die Berge und später läuft man dann noch 1h bzw. 150hm zum Gipfel (Rundweg insgesamt etwa 2-3h und 260hm). Die Eindrücke sind umwerfend und man fühlt sich ein bisschen wie am Grand Canyon. Geheimtipp: Bei der Halbtagestour den frühen Slot (8:15 Uhr) nehmen, da ist man im Gegensatz zum Nachmittag eher in einer kleinen Gruppe unterwegs. Die 60€ für die Tour waren auf jeden Fall gut investiert! Kamera und Bergschuhe unbedingt mitnehmen!

Such a great experience
I had an amazing experience joining the volcano hiking tour! The guide was super responsible and professional, giving detailed explanations along the way and always checking in on how everyone was doing, which made us feel really well taken care of. The group was also really friendly，we looked out for each other, and the vibe was relaxed and fun. We not only got to enjoy the stunning natural scenery but also learned a lot about volcanoes and geology. Highly recommended for anyone who loves nature and adventure!

The missus was THRILLED
Has a wonderful time. I Love hiking so I was always gonna have fun. My girlfriend is far less enthused when hiking is the activity. But the view was just amazing. She even ended up mastering the art of sand drifting down the big hill. The tour guides were fantastic too - well informed but also just good fun. 10/10 would recommend. We often think about this great time! P.S. the car ride up is not at all a rollercoaster. Not sure what the other reviews are about. Tis a little bumpy at most and I would be shocked if anyone would let this stop them from the fantastic experience.

Mount Tarawera Tour
Die Tour war für viele Teilnehmer am Limit, speziell der Abstieg in den Krater!!! Eine Teilnehmerin stieg gleich am Anfang der Tour aus und ging zum Auto zurück. Ein anderen Teilnehmer verlor das Gleichgewicht und stürzte heftig. Dabei entstand eine blutende Lippe, zwei Wackelzähne und Abschürfungen an den Beinen. Leider war das Erste-Hilfe-Set der Guides sehr dürftig ausgestattet. Mein Sohn studiert aktuell Zahnmedizin und hat sich um die Erstversorgung des Teilnehmers gekümmert. Eine bessere Ausstattung fand sich dann an der Schutzhütte. Dort erfolgte die Zweitversorgung durch meinen Sohn. Die beiden Guides waren sichtlich überfordert mit diesem Unfall!!! Der Teilnehmer musste ins Krankenhaus nach Rotorua gebracht werden.
