High up in the clouds

The gondola / high tea combo was a good value deal for a unique celebration with overseas family (especially the 2pm deal through bookme) . Despite the top of the mountain being completely clouded in (no one can control mountain weather) we really enjoyed the feel of the space and the set up. Staff was attentive, quick to take our drinks order (huge pots of tea to keep you going and a good variety) and quick to deliver our high tea. It was a nice mix of savoury and sweet and everything (except the scones) tasted fresh and delicious. Only room for improvement in my view was the balance of savoury vs sweet and the number of items. Being a party of 4 adults and a child we were served two identical trays, so felt like there wasn't enough items to share for each and every one of us.

Skip the high tea

The view from the cafe was amazing. The high tea was a let down. My tea came out 1 hour after the food. I asked for it 3 times. The food was a poor quality and stale. Would definitely recommend getting the gondola up but skip the high tea and have some hot chips instead.

High Tea ride

The ride up to the Cafe was lovely despite the weather being very misty. Some amazing landscape below us. The high tea was not good. The drinks came far ahead of the food, and the food came well after our booked in time. It looked like we had the scraps at the end if the day. The sandwich bread was very dry and a cheese and tomato sandwich was unwhelming. The sweet offerings were dry and some were not made to share such as the lemon cream. The one person in our group who was gluten free got a lovely selection, but the rest of us were really disappointed.
