Join Riverside Adventures Waikato for a magical evening kayaking the calm waters of Lake Karapiro and the Pokaiwhenua Stream.
Starting our paddle from the southern edge of Lake Karapiro, your guide will fill you in on the interesting history of the Horahora village as the sun begins to set.
We will make our way slowly up the Pokaiwhenua Stream and through a canyon hundreds of years old whilst enjoying stunning views of native trees and ferns.
Once darkness falls - the magic begins - as thousands of glowworms come to life, sparkling on either side of you like constellations in the night sky.

Absolut magisch
Der Tag mit Riverside Adventures Waikato war absolut wunderschön. Es war unsere erste Glühwürmchen-Erfahrung und besser hätte sie nicht sein können. Wer ein Fan vom Wasser ist, sollte dies nicht verpassen. Die Glühwürmchen waren so nah am Kayak dran, dass man das Gefühl hatte, man könne nach den Sternen greifen. Auf dem freien Wasser ohne den Glühwürmchen sahen wir dann den klaren Sternenhimmel mit der Milchstraße. Das Team von Riverside Adventures ist super nett und jeder von ihnen hat immer drauf geachtet, dass alle sicher sind und sich wohlfühlen. Fazit: Es war absolut magisch!

Unvergessliches Erlebnis
Dieses naturnahe Erlebnis ist um so viel beeindruckender als die kommerziellen Touren in den berühmten Glowworm caves. Allein die Kajaktour zum Zielort war großartig mit interessanten Erklärungen der sehr netten Tourführer/innen. Grandios dann der Rückweg im Dunkeln durch die Glowworm Schlucht. Hunderte Leuchtpünktchen wie Sterne am Himmel, absolute Stille und leises Dahingleiten. Mein Herz hüpft noch heute vor Freude. Ein unvergessliches Erlebnis!

Tolles Erlebnis!
Schöne Kajaktour mit vielen nützliche Informationen der Umgebung vom Tour guide! Unter anderem zur Historie des Landes, den Bauwerken vor Ort, den Pflanzen + Tieren und sogar Sterne/Sternenbildern. Die Schlucht mit den "Glühwürmchen" war wirklich atemberaubend! Ich kann die Tour nur wärmstens empfehlen!

Woah!!
Loved the getting in nature aspect of this tour!. We had Lofty as our guide and we learned alot about the history of the place along where we kayaked. The scenery is jaw dropping and if you love this country, you surely appreciate it more on water. You will need to be confident in your paddling because for a short stint you paddle against the current. Its worth it though....and if you do this tour - you will see what I mean.
