Experience an enchanting 2.5 hour horse trek through the beautiful Owairaka Valley!
Do you want to experience a fantastic landscape with its wild animals on the back of a horse? Then we invite you to discover our farm of over 1500acres!
This magical experience will take you on a journey amongst grand rhyolite volcanic boulders, passed countless charming streams and infinite green rolling hills, in order to give you the ultimate taste of the Waikato region.
Throughout the trip, this Farmland may display its unique array of semi-wild animals such as wild goats, turkeys, pheasants, black swans, Canadian geese and fallow deer.
You are guaranteed a breathtaking hill-top view and a rustic picnic including homemade german style bread and a cold drink of spring water. We cater to all riding abilities from complete beginners to experienced riders.
At Stone Hill horse trek we make sure you will experience a personal and memorable horse trek. We ride in small groups where you do not have to follow in line. Riding side by side with your friends and family is a lovely way to spend some time on an outing.

Location: 156 Perrott Rd, Pukeatua 3880 (Approx 1 hour drive from Rotorua or Hamilton)
Please Note: Riders must be 12 years of age or over. For the health and wellbeing of our horses and client safety we have a rider weight limit of 90 kg.

Great experience
It was the best ride I've had in a long time. The horses were awesome, the nature incredible (there are some spots where they shot a scene for The Hobbit) and Nicole was really nice. When you book through this site and are an experienced rider make sure to give Nicole a call before you go do you don't end up in a beginner's group. This way you'll be able to trot and race up the mountains as well. You definitely leave with a smile on your face

Amazing Experience!!!
My second time doing horse trekking in my life. I've done my fair share of activities - sky diving, rafting, abseiling, caving, jet boating, kayaking, bungy jumping and more but this is my favourite activity by far. Nicole was so lovely and easy to work with. She made me feel really comfortable with my horse. The scenery is so beautiful and you get alot of time to enjoy it while riding. We had a great picnic surrounded by cows which was funny and interesting because I've never been up close to one. I really enjoyed this experience so so much. Luke (Nicole's dog) was so friendly too. I enjoyed his company even though I'm scared of dogs. I highly recommend Nicole and I would definitely do horse trekking with her again when I'm back in the area. So don't think twice about this activity, just book it. You'll love it.

Stonehill horse trek
Defiantly recommend this. Absolutely fantastic, the surroundings were beautiful the horses were very calm and well behaved and Nicole was lovely and looked after us well. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you for a lovely day Nicole?

Amazing trek
We had the best day, my girls absolutely loved it. Horses were fantastic! Will definitely be back next time we are over that way,
