The bikes were a dream. Seriously nice and worked beautifully. And yes Clyde to Cromwell is the best way to go.
The ride itself.... OK, those safety videos do not lie.
There are some buttock clenching moments - narrow tracks with a steep drop off next to you, hairpin turns, blind corners and then of course there are a few hills in the way.
The e-bikes really helped. My husband pedalled up with ease ( not even out of eco), whilst I pumped mine up to normal and occasionally high for those inclines. Life saver.
I'm a reasonably nervous/ low confidence cyclist and it was a challenging ride in parts but boy, it was totally worth it. The views are amazing, the track itself is ( mostly) wide and compacted, and the vineyard about 10kms before the end is a godsend!!
