Come for a half day kayak adventure on beautiful Lake Wanaka with Paddle Wanaka!
Set off with Paddle Wanaka on beautiful Lake Wanaka for a half day self guided adventure.
We use double kayaks so two people per kayak. These are purpose built expedition kayaks, perfect for an adventure
We meet at the lake front right in the centre of town, where you will get a full briefing and a chance to pick up any last minute snacks, before heading to the lake.
We watch the weather to pick the best departure point on the day. Here the instructor will assist you with the equipment and map before letting you get to it and make your way to the meeting point at Roy's Bay.

Thanks for your review, we're glad you enjoyed your Mission kayak on Lake Wanaka. beautiful photo! With regards to the price, we feel it's at a competitive rate considering in Queenstown you'd pay almost $220 for a similar product. We'll certainly take this into consideration when we review our prices. Thanks for your honesty.
Hi. Thanks for taking the time to review our Mission Trip. It's a great way to get out & take your time to explore what the lake has to offer. I'm glad you had fun! Thanks again for paddling with us.
Thank you for running this great session. Neither of us had kayaked before, so we're a bit nervous about managing the distance etc without a guide and within the time limit. We needn't have worried as the guy (sorry can't remember his name) explained the map and basic paddling methods. We had an amazing morning paddling around Lake Wanaka, taking in the fantastic views We got out to stop on one of the beaches for a break, but found it a bit tough getting in and out of the water etc so after that, carried straight on to the end. We managed to complete the route in just over 2.5 hrs. In future, I'd take a nice little picnic and rest up a bit more and chill. A highlight of our trip!
Awesome review!! The Mission is certainly a great way to get out & explore Lake Wanaka at your own pace. Sounds like you were charging along as we allow 3-4 hours!! Yes taking a nice little picninc would be a bonus. Thanks for chosing to kayak with us for your very first time!!
Amazing Experience
Thanks for your review - short & sweet! Glad you enjoyed The Mission on Lake Wanaka.
Overall a great experience. I liked being dropped off further around the lake so it felt like we had the lake to ourselves. Only negative thing I would say is I can't imagine it would ever take anybody 4 hours to do the kayak - so it really is a 3 hour experience.
Hi Helen, thanks for your review! The Mission is a great option to get out & explore in your own time, which is why we allocate 3-4 hours. Often people stop off for a picnic or a swim allow the way or simply to relax & take in the views. Thanks for chosing us! Paddle Wanaka.

Schön war es
Wir hatten absolutes Kaiserwetter. 4 Stunden waren ausreichend. Ein schöner kleiner Ausflug. Allerdings finde ich den Preis etwas teuer. Im Abel Tasman National Park sind wir 2 ganze Tage Kajak gefahren für 120€ inkl. Rücktransport pro Person.
