Cruise across Lake Whakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm. You will board the Spirit of Queenstown, a modern catamaran with a licensed bar where you can purchase a drink or 2 for your journey.
Once at the lakeside Colonel’s Homestead Restaurant savour the delicious aromas as our chef has the best of local produce sizzling away on the grill. The buffet includes salads, vegetables, and succulent local meats cooked on the wood-fired BBQ. There is a wide range of delicious desserts on offer, including a vast array of fresh bread and cheese.
Overlooking Lake Whakatipu and Queenstown's alpine scenery, the Colonel’s Homestead at Walter Peak is the perfect place to spend a few hours. Its colonial architecture and sweeping grounds evoke the elegance of a bygone era. An entertaining farm demonstration the whole family will enjoy is also included. If there is time remaining, explore the beautiful lakeside gardens before re-boarding the vessel for the return trip to Queenstown.

Not to be missed
Walter Peak gourmet BBQ, a not to be missed experience for the BBQ lovers. Try the beers and bbq with the beautiful scenery of lake whakatipu

Gorgeous day out!
We had an incredible day on this trip. The scenery on the boat ride was gorgeous. They gourmet bbq was delicious, the setting was beyond amazing, the staff were incredible, we loved the rose gardens. We felt like everything was perfect! We didn't realize we got a farm show, but we enjoyed that as well! We ended the day with a walk along the shore and paddling our feet in the cool water while waited for our boat to return. Would highly recommend this trip.

I didn't want to leave
Walter Peak Station is just beautiful. I could have stayed all day. The boat ride on Spirit of Queenstown was smooth and fast. Hold on to your hats if you're up to! At the Station the service was amazing and we had a beautifully positioned table with views back to Queenstown. The BBQ was exceptional. Great range of food. The farm show was entertaining even for a Kiwi.

Must visit
Had an amazing experience…. Staff were friendly and bbq lunch buffet was delicious. Worth it. Must visit!
