The canyon is a breathtaking natural gorge that's been carved out by the famous Shotover River. Skippers Road, which lies high above the river and creeps along the canyon face, has been named as one of the world's top 50 most scenic roads.

The Skipper's Canyon Scenic Tour & Photography Experience will take you to the very best locations that this magical region has on offer - with plenty of opportunities to capture that perfect shot.
Stops along the way include historic houses, huts and even an 1800s school that served the gold miners families.
We supply quality Canon DSLR cameras, lenses and tripods if they are required - At no extra cost.
With an emphasis on small groups of 3, or 4 if all clients know each other, we are able to provide an unbeatable personalised experience.
You will travel between locations in the comfort of our premium quality 4WD vehicles.
We are DOC (department of conservation) approved and have a 100% safety record.

Fanstastic scenic tour through Skippers Canyon. Great photo opportunities. Dan is an excellent guide and has thorough knowledge of the area. Highly recommended. We had an amazing experience and would do another tour with Dan when we get back to Queenstown again. Thanks Dan. Cheers Dorothy and Jim.

ABSOLUTE MUST DO!!!
This was one of the highlights of my trip! Dan is a great guy, relaxed, easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and a good driver - which is very important given the road you’re travelling on. The scenery is breathtaking and I came home with some stunning photographs.. my favourites being the ones Dan took of me. He knew all the best places to go and would stop whenever I wanted. I was also the only one on the tour so it was great having my own private tour guide. You can pay the same and end up in a full van. This was great value for money and I can’t recommend it highly enough! Do it!!

Exactly what we wanted
We were looking for a private tour of Skippers Canyon and this is just what Dan does. His 4WD was comfortable and we stopped many times for photos wherever we wanted. Dan is a very good driver and we felt safe at all times. His commentary was interesting and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Many thanks Dan!

Great tour
Jeder Zeit wieder gerne. Die kleinen Gruppen in unserem Fall zwei Pärchen sind wirklich super. Blair zeigt einem viele schöne Stellen und gibt einem auch ausreichend Zeit zum Fotographieren. Definitiv keine Massenabfertig wie es bei einigen anderen Touren aussah, die wir unterwegs getroffen haben.
