Go off the beaten track and immerse yourself in nature with a beautiful hike through native bush, and rocky trails reaching unique unspoilt views of stunning lakes and mountains that can only be reached by foot…
If you enjoy a bit of exercise and love discovering unique views of natural beauty by foot, this is the hike for you! The walk requires a moderate level of fitness as the track is undulating with some short steep sections, but it is completely worth it!
Starting off in beautiful native bush, you can warm yourself up with a nice gentle descent, breathing in fresh air scented by the red and mountain beech trees and Manuka. Listen out for the Bellbird, Tui and Wood pigeon chattering together as you walk!
Next up we walk on along the shorelines of Bobs Cove where you can stop and take a few photos. Then we are off again climbing a rocky trail where you will discover historic ruins and lime kilns which date back to the 1800’s and offer an interesting insight into the history of the Wakatipu Lime Company who quarried and processed Bobs Cove Limestone.
Just a little bit further and then we finally reach the viewpoint overlooking Bob’s Cove which will blow you away.
Enjoy a moment taking in the untouched beauty of the rugged Remarkables Mountain Range and deep blue waters of Bobs Cove and Lake Wakatipu, before taking some postcard worthy photos. Social media fans will love capturing this very “instragrammable” spot on camera!
Top it all off by taking a break at this stunning spot and enjoying a complimentary morning or afternoon tea.
