A spectacular scenic flight offering a wonderful flying experience accessing an area of outstanding natural beauty. Take in the giant ten thousand foot rock pyramid that is mount aspiring, known to Maori as 'Tititea' or glistening peak. Fly over translucent blue glaciers, and through stunning alpine valleys. A once in a lifetime experience you won't soon forget.

This spectacular local scenic flight offers visitors to Queenstown a wonderful alternative flying experience on days when weather prevents flights to Milford Sound and enables access to an area of outstanding natural beauty that is a highly underrated part of Queenstown's attraction.

Flying north out of Queenstown over the 19th century gold mining area of Skippers Canyon the flight heads directly to the giant ten thousand foot rock pyramid in the distance that is mount aspiring, known to Maori as ?Tititea? or glistening peak.

Your pilot will provide an interesting and informative commentary as you circumnavigate the peak and look down on magnificent views over the seracs and crevasses of ancient translucent blue glaciers and icefalls. This is the heart of a fascinating and stunningly beautiful world of permanent ice and snow, a wondrous visual remnant of the last ice age.

Flying over the dazzling white expanse of the Bonar, Volta, Thurma, Rob Roy, Avalanche and Kitchener glaciers it's apparent that the primal beauty of an untouched glacier is one of natures true wonders.

Heading back to Queenstown your pilot will descend into the Rees or Dart river valleys flying overhead Glenorchy where those two great glacial fed rivers empty into the northern head of Lake Wakatipu. The flight then follows lake Wakatipu back to Queenstown.
