The newest adventure at Cardrona is perfect for the adrenaline-fuelled thrill seeker. Head down the mountain trails on a top of the line mountain cart, no experience needed - just a big smile and your sense of fun!

There are lift-accessed carting tracks for all levels so you can explore the mountain your way!

Our German engineered carts are alpine specialised for performance, comfort and safety.

The low centre of gravity and wide wheelbase enables high stability

Hydraulic disc brakes mean security even on steeper tracks

Ergonomic design allows for a relaxed and comfortable sitting position

High-quality aluminium construction makes for easy handling

Cardrona Alpine Resort
Cardrona Valley Road
Cardrona (a 58km scenic drive from Queenstown over the Crown Range). We are off the main highway up a 13km gravel road.

Notes

Minimum height restriction for a single driver is 100cm.
The maximum weight for mountain carting is 110kg.
Children must be at least 8 years old to ride a mountain cart solo.
NZs only mountain cart experience situated in Cardronas Alpine Playground 1670m above sea level. Its always a few degrees cooler up the mountain to please dress accordingly. Closed footwear is essential for carting.
Cart sizes are based on the driver height - you will be asked to select an applicable height on the way to check out:
X-Small: 100 - 120cm
Small: 120 - 165cm
Medium: 155 - 180cm
Large: 170 - 195cm
X-Large: 180 - 210cm

Operating Season:14 Dec to 2 March. Operating day and hours may vary. Closed on Christmas Day.

Fun activity for speed lovers

We enjoyed the mountain carting experience as something different! The carts go a lot faster than I was expecting and I can see how you could easily come off, however you can break and go slowly if you’re not an adrenaline junkie. Would recommend for anyone who likes a bit of a speed thrill.
