This trip provides a spectacular flight through Milford Sound with the added bonus of Mt Aspiring. Take in endless panoramic views of lakes, forested river valleys, waterfalls, jagged razor backed ridge lines and snow covered peaks along the way.

Highlights

  • Spectacular flight over Milford Sound and Mt. Aspiring
  • Awe inspiring views
  • Interesting flight commentary

Flying north out of Queenstown over the Skippers Canyon the flight heads directly to the ten thousand foot Mount aspiring, known to maori as 'Tititea' or glistening peak.

All seats aboard our aircraft are window seats. Your pilot will provide an interesting and informative commentary as you circumnavigate the peak and look down on magnificent views over  ancient glaciers and ice-falls.

Flying over the white expanse of the Bonar, Volta, Thurma, Rob Roy, Avalanche and Kitchener glaciers it's apparent that the primal beauty of an untouched glacier is one of natures true wonders.

Crossing the mountains at altitude from the Mount Aspiring National Park into the Fiordland National Park and then descending into Milford Sound to see close up views of Mitre Peak and Stirling Falls is an unforgettable, once in a lifetime, experience.

After turning back into the sound over the Tasman Sea you will fly back to Queenstown via one of New Zealand's tallest waterfalls - the Sutherland Falls.
