Explore Opua Kauri Forest and discover the fascinating Kawiti Glow Worm Caves on a small group Northland tour with a local guide!
Prepare to discover some of the most stunning displays of natural wonder in the Bay of Islands in just a limited amount of time on this epic small group tour!
Beginning with a visit to the renowned Kawiti Glowworm Caves, you'll enjoy a thrilling 30 minute guided tour through the 200-metre limestone cave system featuring amazing underground caverns, and thousands of glow worms surrounded by breathtaking stalactites and stalagmites.
Your local Maori guide will offer a fascinating insight into the life cycle of the New Zealand Glow worm while you get up close enough to see their amazing blue / green tail light! On departing the cave you'll enjoy a bushwalk through pristine rain forest and karst rock formations before we head to the next destination - Kawakawa! Here you'll see the world-famous "Hundertwasser Toilets", internationally recognised as a work of art and created from recycled local materials by Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
Before we leave Kawakawa, you'll enjoy a deliciously famous fresh cream donut - arguably the best in the Far North!
We finish the tour with a visit to the Opua Kauri Forest, a nature lovers' dream featuring Kauri trees of different ages - varying from 25 years to 400 years in age! Enjoy a 30-minute stroll through the forest before reaching an elevated look-out where you'll be greeted by stunning views overlooking the surrounding Kauri trees - simply majestic!

Ken was delightful, very personable. He’s extremely knowledgeable about Mauri and NZ history. There were only 3 of us and he gave us a very personalized tour, answering all of our questions. Would recommend highly.

We took this tour as a group of 6, Including 2 teenagers. Our guide Ken was really helpful, gave us a lot of good info about the attractions. The forest walk is a short hike but is very peaceful and we loved seeing the kauri trees. The glowworms were really interesting and good fun.

Toller Ausflug, einzigartiges Erlebnis.
Wir kamen mit den Kreuzfahrtschiff an, haben wir vorab online gebucht, hat alles super geklappt, die Glühwurmhöhle ist der Hammer. Würde ich noch einmal machen!
