Your adventure begins at the Auckland CBD ferry terminal where you will take the scenic journey over to Waiheke Island onboard the Fullers 360 ferry.

Arriving at the Matiatia Ferry, the Explorer Bus will pick you up where you can start enjoying your day of sightseeing on the island.

Take in as many stops as you like before disembarking at stop 9 (Batch Vineyard and Waiheke Aerodrome) where you will arrive at the airport to check-in for your flight.

Following a safety briefing, you will board the world's most popular aircraft - a Cessna 172, seating up to 3 passengers you will take to the skies to enjoy the incredible views over Waiheke Island, the Hauraki Gulf and Rangitoto Island.

Your experienced pilot will provide interesting commentary about the area throughout the flight and point out places of interest such as Ponui, Pakatoa and Rotoroa Island - a conservation sanctuary.

Once you are back on land, take a short stroll back to the bus stop where you can continue your day at your own pace with the flexibility of your hop on hop off Explorer bus pass. With 15 different stops around a 1.5-hour loop of the island, you will have the opportunity to stop at top vineyards, restaurants, shops, art galleries, beaches and nature walks. You can simply sit back and relax and enjoy the views from the bus circuit before deciding where to hop off - the choice is yours.

Once you have finished sightseeing for the day, hop off the bus at the Matiatia Ferry and board the ferry back to Auckland.

The Explorer Bus is only available Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during winter until Monday 25th October.

Tickets purchased for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before 25th October 2021 will only include Ferry Pass and Scenic Flight.

On these days Waiheke Wings will provide complimentary return transport between the ferry and airport.

Bad Weather Refunds

  • If your experience is cancelled by the operator (because of the weather or anything else out of your control) you will be entitled to a full refund.

Notes

  • Passengers will check in at Waiheke Wings base 10 minutes prior to the scheduled flight departure time. A safety briefing will commence prior to flight.

    The ferry departs and returns regularly throughout the day at least once per hour.

  • Flights require a minimum of 2 adults booked to depart.

    Infants under 2 years are free of charge.

    Waiheke Wings requires passengers to provide combined passenger weights. If an individual passengers weight exceeds 100kg please inform our staff at the time of booking. Failure to do so may prevent your flight from taking place due to weight and balance requirements and may lead to additional costs.
