The ferry experience was very pleasant. Loved it. Island is so beautiful. Good for a whole day trip. Nice beaches. Only thing is I wish the ferry back from the Island to Auckland left at 4 pm instead of 3 pm during summer.
Visiting Motuihe Island was a great family day trip. We did half of the walks on the island followed by relaxing swim. It was a stress free stunner of a day.
Awesome experience... great walks and great beaches. A perfect was to spend the day... a walk a picnic and a swim. Very relaxing... easy and nice boat ride too!
Fantastic day out on one of the most beautiful islands you'll find anywhere in the world. Takes about 90 mins to reach the island from Westhaven marina, so plenty of time to sit back and enjoy the scenery along the way.

Pleasant family day out
Great way to spend a day at Motuihe Island. Pleasant, relaxed boat trip on the Red Boat to the island. A brief explanation of the islands we were passing and/or brief history of the area would have been interesting however. The island itself is beautiful, natural with gorgeous beaches. We were very lucky to have beautiful weather. Would recommend and will return to do some more of the walks and appreciate the beaches.
