Our professional crew are well experienced in inshore and offshore racing, so will guide you to a competitive, yet very enjoyable experience on the water.

We welcome individuals, couples, friends and families over the age of 13.

The race is called a Rum Race but does not involve provision of alcohol. The prize for boats winning the race get a bottle of Rum at the RNZYS clubrooms post race.

We are a not for profit charity and proceeds from our sailing journeys go towards our youth sailing programmes.

I had a life at sea.

A true sailing capital! I saw it on the dock, a yacht named after Neo from "The Matrix". The colors of the sky and sea water are both beautiful ! ! !

Utterly amazing

This was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure and was utterly amazing. I say this as an older woman with *no* sailing history and limited mobility. I felt entirely welcome and the entire thing was fantastic. Make yourself do it even if it’s lashing rain and high winds. The crew is brimming with expertise and you’ll be so glad you took the leap.
