Departing from Picton, we cruise through the best location in NZ to spot whales on their annual migration. The dramatic surrounding cliff faces and snow-capped mountains ensure super calm waters and provide the perfect back-drop while we search for whales and local wildlife.

Onboard, you'll have the unique opportunity to participate in collecting research information for the Department of Conservation. Your expert guides will show you how to spot Whales with binoculars - if spotted, your sightings will be officially lodged and the first person to spot a Whale wins a FREE T-Shirt!

At the historic Perano Whaling Station, you'll learn all about current whale research as well as re-live NZ history in the whaling era by way of a fascinating audio-visual presentation. Enjoy wandering through the station and get an idea of what it was like to be a whaler two centuries ago!

As we cruise through the majestic Queen Charlotte Sound to the Tory Channel we look out for all sorts of wildlife, which include 5 species of dolphin, New Zealand Fur Seals, Albatross, Little Blue penguins, Gannets, Fluttering Shearwaters, Endangered King Shags and more.

To top it all off, this all-encompassing tour includes a hot beverage and biscuits or a sample of local wine and local mussels. What a way to end the day!
