  • Designed for travellers & Kiwis who seek a kayaking adventure with an exciting waterfall!
  • An epic and memorable adventure for all!

Our boat takes you to the best locations & makes kayaking easy!

We cruise for around 30 minutes along our local island coastline & 3km up a meandering river that in days gone by sailing ships loaded Kauri logs. Guests transfer to kayaks to explore up close, paddle through mangrove forests or photograph seabirds feeding their nesting babies in trees hanging over the river. Our final destination is where a waterfall drops into the sea & if you dare, paddle up to or under the waterfall.

This option is great for beginner levels or anyone looking to have more time to explore the local bird colonies, mangrove forests and waterfalls.

No prior kayaking experience is required, although we are mindful that not everyone in your family may be confident to kayak. Our Safety vessel is comfortable, always in calm waters & is on hand if anyone needs a rest…

Great Kayaking but no boat ride

We had a lot of fun with this activity however there are some things that need to be mentioned. 1. The description led us to believe there would be a boat cruise. At no point do you get to travel on a boat. You kayak from shore to the waterfall and back and there is a boat driving along side you for safety purposes but at no point are you "transferring" between the boat and the kayaks. So I would just call it a Waterfall Kayak not a Waterfall Cruise, in our opinion the title and description was a little misleading. 2. Please change the location description!! We were a little bit late because we followed the exact instructions given and they turned out to be wrong. The description says turn left till you get to a wharf. We had to call twice to find out where we were supposed to go. When you come off the Waitangi bridge you should be turning RIGHT and keep going past the SOS day spa till you see all the kayak trailers etc. (This was really unclear and if we hadn't called we would not have been able to find the location at all.) Apparently the location of the kayaking switches from the right side to the left side of the bridge every now and then but this needs to be specified and CLEAR instructions need to be given. I would never have guessed that I need to drive through the spa carpark to get to it. Also google maps wasn't any help because halfway on the bridge it told us we were at our destination. On a more positive note, we had a great time! Our tour guide was a lot of fun and patient with everyone. You MUST try at least once to kayak under the waterfalls, super fun! You will most likely be put in a double kayak so if your group has an odd number be prepared to share with a stranger OR kayak a double by yourself. Thanks for a nice trip!
