Awesome experience with a lovely guide. Very professional. He told us about the history of the place too. We were learling while having fun at the ziplines. No way to beat that haha. He also gave us a lot of useful tips for our trip. Very sweet and helpful. The experience itself is amazing. The views stuning. Would repeat!

It was just me, my two girls (9 and 8) and the owner, Rob. It was amazing fun and Rob has done such an amazing job designing this attraction (and digging out all the pathways by hand!!!). Highly recommend this activity and would definitely do it again. Thanks Rob!

There were 5 of us together, 3 adults and 2 8 year olds. We absolutely loved it! My 8 year old was scared at first and hesitant to go on however Rob our instructor is very knowledgeable and experienced and made him feel safe. Amazing experience, we’re ready to book again. Thanks Rob!

It was a great experience! An awesome way to end our weekend away. Easy to find.. Rich and his wife were lovely! Trip was small and informative.. We got to wonder through parts of the cave.. Learn about the history and see the glow worms and eels (eww lol) Those stairs are a killer though phew.. Haha so unfit. Loved the kawakawa tasting at the end! Thanks Footwhistle Tours - Totally recommend!!

I had an absolutely amazing time from the bus trip, Waitomo caves and Rotorua. It was an educational and magical day besides the unpredictable weather of NZ. Rachael our bus driver, was entertaining and great. All the tour guides were great and obviously very passionate about their work. Will definitely do this tour again. Thank you.

This was an awesome tour! Our tour guide Damien was filled with amazing stories and facts about New Zealand, he was the best! It was great to be able to have both tours in one trip, since they aren't far from each other. Hobbiton was so much fun, our tour guide had lots of fun facts and trivia about the movie set. It was great having the drink and buffet lunch (which was delicious) included! Waitomo caves was fascinating to see and is something I will never forget. It's sad that you can't take pictures in the caves though. I would definitely recommend this tour, it was my favorite from my trip!

The Hobbiton was amazing . I went there when it raining but the staff are very nice provide the umbrella . Ginger beer is tasty and lunch buffet was awesome. Waitomo cave is good but cannot take photo inside.

Kane, our driver/tour guide for the day was amazing. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. Cookies and water given to us before boarding the bus was good service. I enjoyed it alot and hope will do it again one day.

The Gray Line Tour was wonderful from start to finish. The staff was extremely helpful meeting us at the City Station and getting us on the right bus for the tour . The bus driver Brian was great and told us lots about NZ history in an entertaining manner! He was kind and helpful with lots of good tour tips! Going to Hobbiton was wonderful and a tour I wouldn’t miss! The lunch was great with lots of good choices! Waitomo Caves was another must do tour! The tour was extremely organized . The bus was very comfortable and enroute to the tour sites you see the wonderful NZ country side! Thank you Brian and Grey Line Tours!

It’s a very wonderful trip. The driver Aldo tour guide is amazing to introduce all the way with her profession and humorous & friendly personality. She drove us safely return. The trip is well organized and considerate. Not too rush and let us have eniugh time to make photos. Bus is comfortable as well. Highly reckon ??

Great start to our NZ trip! We enjoyed our bus trip and the amazing views. Bus seats were comfortable. Hobbiton tour was superb, would have been better if the tour was longer. Try getting the one with the lunch buffet, everything on their buffet spread was really good! Would have eaten more if I can but 1 serving of everything was quite filling. The Waitomo caves are a bit of a let down maybe because the Hobbiton tour was perfect. On our way back, our guide even suggested to have some ice cream and buy some souvenirs. We really enjoyed the witty comments of our tour guide/driver, highly recommended!

Picked up at sky tower by Damien our driver, bus is super comfortable and got water and a cookie for the trip. Damien was fantastic, spoke for ages about the history of New Zealand and really held my attention even at 7am, very interesting stories and information he gave us which was better than the usual of a tour guide. Hobbit set was so beautiful, I've never seen LOTR but could still appreciate it. Our guide here was Izzy, she was lovely, so friendly and again so knowledgeable about the whole set and all the movies. The lunch here was brilliant, such a range of food and well organised. Also the free cider was so tasty, could have had more than one! On to the Waitomo Caves where we seen the glow worms, this tour was so cool. Somethinh very different, the limestone caves were amazing and the boat tour through the glow worms cave was a surreal experience. All staff here were super friendly. Overall such an amazing day out, worth every penny!

Hobbiton is a magical awesome place, wish we could stay longer there. The lunch was great, the complimentary beer as well (we tried ale and stout, both excellent). They keep the place looking super authentic. Our guide on the bus drive to there gave us various curious details about NZ and the local nature, people, industry, etc., it was really useful. Waitomo cave then was also magnificent magical place, better they dont allow photos inside, as it would ruin the emotion and experience. Lovely place, would recommend it, as well as the whole tour in general!

Hobbiton was so magical, and the lunch Buffett was the cherry on top! We loved the bus driver, she was very fun & informative. We learned a lot at the caves and had a good time. You walk through them and end on a ~5 minute boat ride in the dark to see the glow worms. I recommend this tour!

Driver Luis – knowledgeable, helpful & explained facts & sights along the drive. HOBBITON Arrived at Shire’s Rest where tickets, gift shop & café are. Walked with knowledgeable guide Bee. Enchanting layout designed to be true to the book. Green Dragon Inn tavern was great, apple cider drink most welcoming as was travelling companion’s ale. Lunch at marquee was delicious. Luis arranged a stop at gift shop – a BIG CHEER for him as people do want the buying experience. WAITOMO CAVE Guide Trev knowledgeable, welcoming & engaging. Fabulous formations of cave, river & glow worms. Have family photo taken which will be made into photobook ready to buy at tour end.

Really enjoyed it, Hobbiton is so well kept and the beer or cider in the Green Dragon Inn is a great plus. The meal was way better than I expected, with tasty food, all you can eat and good desserts. The Waitomo caves were even better! Exceeded my expectations, it's a truly overwhelming experience that took my breath away with its beauty. Only drawbacks of the trip were the time spent on each location. It wasn't too short but with such great sights I could've stayed for hours. Also the bus had faulty air conditioning and the driver's microphone went out so he had to shout and I missed something of his explanation. Last the traffic back was heavy, but overall I truly recommend it!

Definitely worth the cost! Our guide, Colleen was soooo good! Glowworms were everywhere and she explained all about their life.

We enjoyed the cave and the guide was informative Our campervan was having trouble and left a few messages during business hours as we thought we’d have to cancel or postpone but our calls were not returned which caused a bit of stress at our end and when we got there they didn’t mention it so I’m not sure if they checked their messages Apart from that it was good and the guide Rich was friendly and happy to answer questions and was a gentleman and kept back not rushing up back up the steep stairs My daughter wanted to stay down longer

I'm glad we survived hhhh.. We really enjoy the experience, wonderful memory in our life. Rodney very helpful and knowledgable. A lot of thanks to him. Although it's been really tough, especially for our 68 yrs grandma, yet we all did it. Love it, would certainly recommend it to other tourists.
