Amazing. Will be doing it again.
We booked the winter eco experience aboard the Albatross V. Having the dolphins swim alongside our boat for 20 minutes was an amazing experience. Our skipper had a great personality, very knowledgeable and shared lots of stories and information with us. We had a wonderful day out and enjoyed the muffins. Great fun. We would highly recommend this experience.
We had a great experience with these guys. Super friendly and gave us lots of info and other places to go and visit too.
We have rent 2 single kayaks for 4 hours and went to the waterfall. On our way back it was high tide, so we explored mangroves. Fantastic! Because we still have plenty of time, we wanted to go and explore some islands, but rain came and we got cold. Next time! :-) Thank you Coastal Kayakers!
Very cool to get up and close to the Haruru Falls. Enjoyed the kayaking and Dan was informative and welcoming. Thanks for a great trip.
Taylor and Kate are awesome host and we learnt a lot about local birds and Kayaking and stand up paddling techniques.
BOI is truly a paradise, the track is amazing with stunning views and historic sites all the way. The bearded guy (forgot to take his name) at bike rental reception is super helpful & is full of knowledge - he has the community spirit going on and is very passionate about this business. You can ride the bike from Opua to Kawaka & take the vintage train back to Taumarere railway station. will definitely be back for next leg.
Was a great family experience. Staff very friendly and helpful. My son was a bit nervous, but staff was there to put his mind at ease, and he ended up enjoying himself. Would definitely recommend.
Lizzy communicated with us due to the weather. Lizzy and Amy were friendly and understanding. We are novice riders and the ride was amazing, with great views of the Bay. The horses were paired to our experience and behaved extremely well. We thoroughly enjoyed our virgin ride. Even might have another go another time.
We had an amazing time here on the 09/06. Emma picked us up from Paihia and was super friendly. She explained everything and made us feel confident even if we were just beginners. The views were amazing, and we enjoyed riding on Moana and Ace. Thanks for the lovely experience.
Enjoyed this experience where we had everyone from complete novice riders to experienced ones in the group. Our host catered to all needs and went out of her way to ensure everyone enjoyed themselves and stayed safe. The time went quickly with a variety of views - roadside, sea and bush riding. The horses were reasonably well behaved, and of course the swim was lots of fun. Thanks!
Thanks Ruby and Dan for an amazing kayaking afternoon. We travelled from Queenstown and was nice to feel the summer! They gave us a lot of advises to do the following days.
Awesome afternoon with Dan and Ace from Bay of Islands Waterfall + kayak/paddle board! Guides were relaxed, well informed and made kayaking a breeze! The kayak under the Haruru waterfall is the new favourite NZ must do moment! Great way to spend an afternoon in Paihia!
We had a fantastic evening kayaking and bird watching. Dan and Ace were great guides and their enthusiasm was contagious. Highlight was kayaking under the waterfall and even climbing in under to experience all the power of the water!
What a great afternoon out. My teenagers loved it too! The guides where extremely friendly and patient. The river and waterfall and bird life were stunning! Great afternoon out, and I believe the last tour at night is even better!
The highlight of our trip so far. Very friendly and fun staff . The whole trip was amazing fun for both me and my teenage children. Loved it and would def recommend to anyone !
I lived that tour. My partner and I had so much fun kayaking and the guide, Ben, was super patient and fun. Would do it again.
What a highlight of our trip. We were lucky enough to have a small group on our booking. The guys were so informative and friendly. Their local knowledge and enthusiasm was infectious. Well done, keep up the good work, will see you again. p.s take the photo package, they captured our experience perfectly.
Nice and friendly staff, good and safe kayaks, wonderful place. Totally recommended
We really enjoyed our paddle out to Haruru falls. The kids had a neat time. The guides were very friendly and funny & great with the kids. Was an awesome experience. Definitely worth doing. The waters are lovely & calm as you are not near any waves.
Im really glad we booked the tour, got more information and insight about the treaty and the grounds and the surrounding plants. I think if we didn’t book with the tour we would’nt have a clue and much more knowledge of the surroundings. The marae/ powhiri and maori entertainment was fantastic. Such talented individuals. Definitely worth doing. Vinaka vaka levu, Sereana Bebenisala.
A fantastic experience that is a must do. The guided tour was extremely informative. There is so much to do here. The Waitangi house has recently been refurbished and the museum is also new. We spent hours here leaning about the wonderful Maori culture.
Found my visit to the treaty grounds really interesting. It's worth paying the extra for a guided tour, I don't know where I'd have begun otherwise. The cultural performance was also excellent. The grounds are really pretty with excellent views of the Bay.
The treaty grounds presents the cultural history of New Zealand brilliantly! Well worth a visit! I visited in August with my son and had a personal tour with John - had the same tour on this visit with other friends and my husband and John again took the tour but a large group and was still as interesting! The man knows his history and his passion for his job shines through as he answered questions and queries! The cultural performance was splendid and ended the tour brilliantly!
As an overseas visitor the Treaty Grounds gave me valuable knowledge and understanding about NZ and it’s people.
This is a must see activity for both locals and overseas visitors. You need to devote a day to take full advantage of the tour, cultural activity, museum visit, Treay House & Meeting House visits and wood carving workshop as well as to just enjoy the gardens and surrounds. It is an extra special deal with bookme.co.nz. Fantastic value!
The guided tour of the treaty grounds was very informative. The ear piece given to listen to the guide was very handy as sometimes it is quite hard for everyone to hear such things. When we were out by the wakas, there were alot of children around with a school group, and so that made it hard to listen. Meeting house show was a bit of a laugh
The guided tour is a must with excellent guides and I really enjoyed the cultural performance as it was done with sense of performance and fun that I think was a good balance. Museum and grounds with sea views complete the package and easily worth half a day to fully appreciate it including the cafe (just outside) that served good quality food.
I am a kiwi and I had not been to see where the Treaty was signed. I’m glad I did it. If you are a resident you need to take the time and go visit the most iconic place where a fundamental moment in time happened for our country. Believe me there is lots to learn. I have read and studied the treaty and I still learnt more. Go with an open mind and heart. You will be surprised.
Was really great experience highly recommend to anyone!
Awesome guided tour best part of our journey especially the performance ... love love love yous
I spent a good time into the Treaty of Whitiangi, really interesting guide and history, I particulary enjoyed the show of the maoris! And beautiful view of the Bay of Island ! I recommended !
It was a full day of great experience and learning about New Zealand culture and heritage! Great concert from the local Maori group. The largest war canoe built by the Maori is fascinating and a real piece of art too. All museums were great and very informative. Great and knowledgeable guides too. Highly recommend it to everyone!
Joey our guide was excellent in the way he told us all about Waitangi - the treaty, the war canoe, the Treaty house and The Flagstaff. We also liked the way he referred to us Aussies as friends and Allies. We really enjoyed the cultural performance especially the way everything they did was explained to us. The museum was well laid out and interesting - we could’ve spent a long time there. The whole experience was well worth our entry fee.
I really enjoyed the day, amazing guide tours and maori experience. Real history, so much to learn about. Thanks for the deal. ?
