A truly memorable experience, would highly recommend. Our pilot was very knowledgeable and all the staff really friendly and helpful. We saw three sperm whales which our pilot said was unusual for them all to be swimming so near to each other. Also saw a huge pod of dolphins as well as some seals and albatross. Great views of the coastline around Kaikoura. Thanks Air Kaikoura!!!
No whales to see They lied . So disappointed. Travel so far to see whales but so disappointed

The thing you must do in kaikoura!
This was such a wonderful experience! The captain mentioned we had a good chance of spotting whales. Once we boarded the plane, we headed straight to where the boats were gathered. We first saw many dolphins joyfully leaping across the water's surface. After circling for a while, we began our search for whales. Spotting them with a propeller plane was much faster than using a boat. Then, we circled around the whale, watching it breathe and… poop! As it dove deeper, our viewing came to an end. For those prone to seasickness, I highly recommend taking the plane—you’ll suffer for a much shorter time!
