Join Franz Josef Wilderness Tours for an amazing off-road adventure as you are guided through a rainforest, across rivers and along an ancient glacial riverbed. Take in the magnificent scenery including the spectacular Southern Alps and Franz Josef Glacier.
On arrival, your guide will kit you out with wet weather gear and gumboots and give you a lesson on how to drive our off-roading vehicles. Be entertained with Maori Legends and local history while refining your driving skills and conquering new challenges.
Enjoy a single quad bike on your own or take a passenger along for the ride with our double quad bike option!
Located in the remote Franz Josef Village tucked away underneath the rugged Southern Alps this is the ultimate location for a unique off-roading experience.

Was very fun!!
Guide (Nick) was super friendly, Tour was very very fun! You'll drive trough the riverbed and trough water streams, as well as the rainforest (and deeper mud!!) Would absolutely recommend, will donit again! Thanks Nick!

A fantastic experience
We had great fun, our guide was great, we had good instruction, the course was varied, with a bit of jungle, rivers and rocky terrain plus the photos taken were free. Overall an excellent experience.

Quad Bike Excursion
Enjoyed the riding through the jungles as well as the rocky river beds. Amazing views of Franz Josef! Guides were attentive & provided us the relevant training & safety brief. Great jobs with the photo taking as well.
