Join Raft Fish NZ for a unique raft fishing experience on the stunning Mohaka River.
This spectacular river is one of the finest wilderness river systems in New Zealand and is home to rainbow and brown trout which can reach up to 10 lb or more!
Departing from McVicar Road, Napier, you’ll set off on your 4 hour adventure and drift over beautiful waters to the sounds of birdsong . Soak up the serene surroundings that include magnificent gorges, farmland, waterfalls and untouched native forest.
Along the way we will stop for a spot of fishing and you can try your hand at fly or spin fishing.
For the more adventurous, there’s also some exciting Grade 2 Rapids!
No rafting or fishing experience is needed to enjoy this half day adventure.
Raft Fish NZ have over 30 years experience on the river and will be on hand throughout the journey providing interesting commentary and of course their fishing tips on how to land a big one!
So join us for a unique adventure, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and surrounded by awe inspiring scenery.

The boys loved it!
Bought my hubby and father a half day raft fishing trip with Deon. They loved it! Said the scenery as they rafted to different fishing spots was stunning and had great fun catching the trout that they had for dinner that evening. Great experience and morning out for the boys while mum and I di what women do...shopped :)

Fabulous day!!
Deon was a great guide and we had an unforgettable day on the beautiful river. We didn't catch any trout unfortunately but we learnt a few tips for fishing for them and enjoyed the natural beauty and awesome raft ride!

Ticks all the boxes
Myself and my partner had and absolutely great day on the water with Deon. Not only was it a beautiful day floating down the river but we both caught our first rainbow trout each with the expert advice from our guide. Would put it down as a highlight of our trip so far. Une superbe expérience
Une demi-journée agréable. Nous avons descendu la rivière petit à petit avec le rafting tout en profitant des différents sports de pêche. Beaucoup d'explications de la part du guide, il était adorable. Pas de prise pour ma part mais j'ai tout de même découvert une superbe rivière et vis de beaux poissons. Merci pour tout

A Highlight of Our Trip
My husband and I enjoyed an incredible private rafting and fishing experience with Deon on the river. It was so peaceful to float down the Mohaka and Deon was an excellent host and instructor. With his expertise on fishing form and location, I caught my first fish right away, a big five pound Rainbow Trout! Seeing her zest for live, we released her back to the river. My husband also caught another gorgeous Rainbow Trout in a different spot. Amazing Experience!
