Stay High Island Camping Co offers you the unique experience of exploring Great Barrier Island in a stylish vehicle that also provides you with accommodation, ensuring you have an affordable way to make the most out of your trip to the island.

You'll be provided with a Nissan Xtrail with a Feldon Shelter Rooftop Tent (and all the camping gear) with the ability to add on extra camping equipment for larger groups, surfboards, and even fresh organic vegetables from our micro farm.

Whether you travel with family, friends or that special someone, the Stay High Camping Co experience allows you to immerse yourself in the stunning beaches, walking trails, waterfalls, hot pools and cuisine that Great Barrier Island is brimming with.

Restrictions

  • Minimum age: 21
  • Minimum renting age to drive is 21. Excess for under 25 = $3,000, excess for 25 years and older = $2,000.

    Please note that operator will take a photo of drivers license and credit card at check in so please ensure to bring these for pick up. International license accepted.

    Costs associated with damage to the engine due to obvious improper use will be accepted by the customer.

    Cars are not allowed to be driven on beach or sand, or through any water including flooded roads.

Notes

  • Pricing is based on a per night basis for the vehicle (for up to 2 persons).

    Extras (can be purchased at check-out):

    Surfboard: $25/night

    Organic Veggie Box direct from our garden (enough for 3-5 days): $30

    Camping Gear Package (gear only): $55


    Pick Up times are between 2pm - 6pm

    Drop Off Times are between 9am and 11am.

    Additional charges will apply for late pick ups / drop offs.


    Please note: Customer is responsible for booking the DOC campgrounds on Great Barrier Island.

  • By booking this product you agree that the operators terms and conditions has to be signed to join the experience and no refund will be processed by failing to do so. The booking confirmation email will include the document for your signage.
