Join us for this sweet experience as you're guided through the process to producing your own jar of luscious honey!

Highlights

  • Become involved in honey making as we guide you through the extraction process.
  • Learn all about bees and honey with this fully interactive activity.
  • Earn your own jar of delicious honey to take home.

Perfect for families, our honey spinning experience offers sticky, delicious, educational fun for people of all ages!

Learn about why Beehives are designed the way they are, how bee colonies build honey comb and convert nectar into honey and how they operate seamlessly as a colony.

Weโ€™ll provide you with a frame oozing with exquisite natural honey which youโ€™ll get to then load it into a honey extractor and wind the handle to make the frame spin, releasing the golden goodness from its waxy cell. Once enough has pooled at the bottom of the extractor youโ€™ll get to open the Honey Gate and watch as your honey pours through a filter and into your very own jar.

Then all you have left to do label your jar and decide howโ€™s best to eat your artisan honey!

Can't stop buzzing?

Nick is a walking encyclopaedia on all things bees, and his passion truly shines through! Whether you do the Honey Spinning experience where you get to extract (and taste!) honey straight from the hive and pour yourself your own jar of uniquely-labelled honey to take home, or the Let's-Make-It experience, where you make your own honey soap, candle, lip balm and lotion, or the Be-A-Beekeeper experience where you wear the suit and get to meet the bees, you will Bee Happy with your choice. There are many activities in Queenstown; none are as educational and hands-on as these Buzzstop experiences. A perfect outing, whether it's for a date, a family affair, or with a bunch of friends. I've done all of the experiences, and am now starting to do them all over again. Oh, and there's also wine tasting as well as a fabulous cafe too. So fly on over to Buzzstop; you'll bee glad you did.

Loved it!

Enjoyed every bit, even being in the heat in the honey room where we learnt about bees. The funky little honey jar souvenir with a custom label was just the cutest!

Wonderful activity, something out of the ordinary

I had the best time experiencing honey spinning at Buzzstop cafe, it was a completely random activity I thought I would try and I'm so glad I did! Nick is very friendly and beyond knowledgeable, I honestly learnt so much that day and had the best time, and have a whole new appreciation for how amazing bees are! Great for something different to do, highly recommend.

Fantastic Visit to Buzzstop Honey Centre

I spent a few days in Queenstown and decided to visit the Buzzstop Honey Centre and Cafe. It was an amazing experience! Nick, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable about bees. He provided a fascinating history and detailed information about different species of bees and flowers. The workshop was very cool and educational. I felt like I learned a great deal about bees. The experience of spinning honey was particularly interesting, and the information about Manuka honey was enlightening. Buzzstop is a great place filled with a variety of honey products that you wouldnโ€™t find in a supermarket. I highly encourage any honey lover to make a trip here. No regrets!
