Highlands Motorsport Park is a one-stop adventure destination for all ages!
The National Motorsport Museum houses an eclectic mix of old and new, classic cars and sportscars, DIY dream machines, drag racers, multi-million dollar supercars, single-seater race cars, a Wall of Fame of our motor-racing greats and is home to the Benetton car raced by the legendary Michael Schumacher to win his first Formula 1.
You can view one of only 25 Aston Martin Vulcans in the world! There's only 1 in the southern hemisphere and it's valued at NZ $4.2million! The displays have recently been extended with a unique Aroma Room Wine Experience where you have the ability to match different scents to the different wine varieties from the Central Otago region. A display dedicated to the Hokonui Fashion Design Awards is a new addition as well.
A driving simulator, Batak machine, mini-golf and balance bikes are all part of the Museum experience. Highlands is a truly 5-star facility, which boats multiple ways to experience the circuit at speed from McLaren’s to Porsche’s, is home to the best outdoor go-kart circuit in the southern hemisphere, in addition to the National Motorsport Museum and an onsite café.

Staff were friendly. Been a coulpe of times before. But this time they had a VR excperience with a driver around the track. Vintage arcade motor racing was fun. There were also a couple other things aswell. Aswell as all the cars on show. Not bad for $5 usual price $30 ( which i think is a vmbit sreep )
The collection of vehicles and memorabilia is amazing, mixed with the VR experience and wine aroma selection is great. I would definitely do this again on my next visit.
Great to hear you enjoyed your time at Highlands! We hope to see you again in the future:)
Don't miss this experience! What an amazing experience! The lady that received us at reception was super friendly and welcoming and reminded us not to miss the "loo with a view". We were in awe viewing all the supercars and racing cars alike. Headed downstairs to the "loo with a view" and oh were we surprised and entertained and the same time! Not just one loo...quite a few and may I say, if you are not into cars then go at least to experience the loo's with a view. You will not be disappointed. That was the cherry on the top! Our best experience of the day by far! Then do yourselves a favour and grab a coffee at their café. The young friendly man making and serving the coffee makes the best cuppa we had in a while! Thank you to the lady who received us and the awesome young man who rounded our experience off with a beautiful cuppa coffee. We will be back!
Thank you for such a great review! Our team is very happy to hear you enjoyed your time at Highlands and thank you for your compliments to our staff. We do hope to welcome you back in the future:)
So we booked the museum pass thru bookme and at $5/person instead of the usual $15 this was a bargain and a must see if you have even the slightest interest in cars. 1 of only 24 in the world make the Aston Martin Vulcan worth the entry fee all by itself followed closely on its heals by the Beneton F1 car Shuey collected his first win in. Truly amazing to think that in little old NZ we have some of the rarest and most historically significant cars in the world!

Worth visiting
It is only small, but we took advantage as a family of doing all the little activities in the museum taking our time to drool over the cars. Grandchildren loved seeing all the cars. I don’t think we would have been satisfied with the experience had we paid the full price, but at a discounted rate we were happy.
