Do you know your Pinot from your Gris? Discover why Gibbston Valley™ has earned international acclaim with a memorable tour of their winery and a tasting of four stunning wines.

Highlights

  • Learn about the unique combination of our environment, aged vines and winemaking craft!
  • Be guided through our winery with our relaxed and informative tour, all while enjoying four tastings of our award winning wines!

Gibbston Valley™ offers a truly unique winery tour, where you will see the winemakers in action and experience wine tasting inside the largest wine cave in New Zealand.

Innovation requires bravery, and Gibbston Valley™ knows this well. In 1983 when winery founder Alan Brady planted his first vines in Central Otago’s southern soils many “experts” had their doubts, but Alan proved them wrong! Now after three decades and countless medals later, Central Otago is considered one of the world’s best wine regions, with a history of bravery.

Come and discover for yourself just why so many people now love Gibbston Valley™ and their Central Otago wines. Our relaxed and informative tours will take about 45mins to take a guided look around our beautiful winery, all while savouring four of our wonderful wines.

Wine experience

Overall it was average. Upon arrival no one greeted us and it took forever to get the attention of a staff member. Understandably busy but not great first impressions as after I got the attention of the member they were not so nice. Then we proceeded to the wine tour. The wine tour was detailed and informative. Tour guide was nice.

Great experience!

I was meant to have done this tour with a friend of mine, but it ended up just being me going. Despite this, the experience was amazing. The staff are amazing, friendly and welcoming. The person who did the tour was incredible, energetic and super educated on wine (which was great, because I know nothing about wine). It ended up being about 8 of us that did the tour, we were taken around to the different grapes, learnt how the wine is created and was taken into the cellar in the mountain to try some wines. A great experience which I will definitely do again. Was definitely a highlight of my Queenstown trip. Also have a cheese platter afterwards - it just hits different.
