Experience Milford Sound, the 8th wonder of the world, with a fascinating Coach & Cruise trip brought to you by Southern Discoveries.
Superb experience from our expert and funny tour guide/driver to the cruise with lovely service and delightful buffet lunch. Please provide more drinks.
First I wanted to say a big THANK YOU to our amazing driver and tour guide Stan!!! His sense of humour made the whole journey full of happiness. The whole trip was wonderful and the sceneries were stunning and incredible. During the trip, we were luckily saw the seals and alpacas. All in all, it’s worth to have a tour like that.
Booked for 2 with pick up from Te Anau. We have a car, however I was excited to experience the glass roof-top bus. Booked for 10am & expected we would return around 6pm latest (2hr drive to/from Milford, + 2hr boat). There was NO glass rooftop coach/bus, just a small 10-15 person shuttle. The driver told us we would be back around 7pm as our boat would not leave until 2:30pm (moved from 1:30pm). Arrived back 7:10pm. The driver made lots of stops on the way as we had time to kill. Was starving by the time we boarded boat at 2:30pm and there was NO buffet lunch (another reason why I booked this tour). The lady at reception said the boat was too small, however there was an entire buffet set up on board. Very confusing and disappointed with my dry chicken sandwich. Overall, okay. Did not meet expectations. Next time, I would drive myself.
We are Indian pples and he treated as a Indian. We want to get off at last bus stop but he didn't take us there.otherwide ok.

A Beautiful Day Trip to a Beautiful Place
We left from Te Anau on time - but the day was a bit overcast. However, just a short time after that, the sun started burning through, and EVERYTHING came to life. (In case anyone was wondering, God really does answer prayer - even about little things.) The bus driver spoke with a strong Kiwi accent, so we Americans didn't catch everything he said; but he obviously knew the winding route like the back of his hand. We had a couple of great stops - one to see the intelligent and beautiful Kea Parrots - on the way, and we saw beautiful snow melting into more waterfalls than I could count along the way. The boat travel through Milford (Fjord) Sound was fabulous as it had snowed on top of the mountains the day or night before. There were waterfalls entering the fjord every 60 meters, I would guess. We saw seals and penguins who swam along like porpoises. Oh yes, the buffet on the boat was scrumptious! I have *SO* many photos to process and sort... :)
