Enjoy a relaxing cruise through Auckland's upper Waitemata Harbour on the Riverhead Cruise!

Departing from Westhaven Marina in downtown Auckland you soon leave the city in you're wake as the cruise takes you under the Auckland Harbour Bridge towards the unchartered waters of the upper harbour estuary. Along the way you'll pass scenic points of interest and landmarks including the Chelsea Sugar Refinery, Kauri Point and Herald Island.

Continuing on the cruise passes Riverlea, Brighams Creek, and Harkins Point tracing the footsteps of the early traders and scows that once negotiated these waters. After 90 minutes of relaxed cruising, and taking in the sites with informative commentary along the way you arrive at the historic Riverhead Tavern.

At around 150 years old the Riverhead Tavern is one of the oldest and most prestigious taverns in New Zealand, rich in history and more popular than ever there are a multitude of options to enjoy here from fantastic à la carte dining at The Landing Restaurant, to simple pub fare and a cold beer in the sun at the Portage Sports Bar.

After a couple of hours relaxing at the tavern, it's time to board the vessel again for the return trip to Auckland. Enjoy a drink from the onboard cash bar, take in the sights and play a tune on the juke box there's still plenty of time to relax and enjoy life on the return journey.

Excellent outing

What an excellent trip on the Red Boat. A very interesting commentary on points of interest and great scenery along the way out to Riverhead. A meal and drink at the old pub was perfect before the return journey,

Looking forward in the future.

Sorry could not be with you. We plan to book again as soon as we are able. We are in our 70s and look forward to travelling with you on a fine day. Getting up the steps would have been a mission for my husband on a wet day. Appreciated the phone call. Ngā mihi nui Faye Chilvers
