Experience the thrill and manoeuvrability of this impressive watercraft as your jet boat negotiates tight spins and takes on the Nga Awa Purua Rapids with full V8 power and aggression; surfing the pressure waves and ripping up and down the white water.
The scenery on the river is spectacular and there is ample time to enjoy your amazing surrounds while learning about the wildlife and history of the area.
Rapids Jet is set in the beautiful Aratiatia Scenic Reserve just 15 minutes drive north of Taupo and 50 minutes south of Rotorua and is guaranteed to get the blood pumping.

Fun experience
Enjoyed this activity! Be prepared for speed and just an all round good time! Have done before and decided to do it again. This time round didnt get tok wet as the river wasnt as high as last time!

Not your usual river cruise, this jet boat rocks!
This was one of our best jet boat experiences in NZ. The driver Jacob had interesting knowledge of the Waikato River and drove us up and down the rapids heaps of times. His banter with us Aussies was completely untrue but it was kinda funny for a Kiwi. Lots of thrills in a small and very quick jet boat just outside Taupo, highly recommended, totally perfect. Thanks Jacob!!

Great experience and driver
My retiree parents and I did this as their “adrenaline” NZ experience and it did not disappoint! The boat ride is definitely thrilling but not as crazy as skydiving etc which means ANYONE can enjoy it and still feel comfortable (: Our skipper Jacob was super friendly and struck a great balance between the spins / stunts, Q&A and banter which made the trip event better than expected. Definitely recommend as a great option for the whole fam / travel group!
