Located in the spectacular Mackenzie High Country, the crystal clear waters of the Lake Tekapo Canal is home to both Brown & Rainbow Trout, and Chinook Salmon.

Easy access combined with large fish and outstanding natural beauty make the Lake Tekapo Canals one of the most popular freshwater fishing spots in New Zealand and offer anglers the opportunity to bag the catch of a lifetime.

Trout weighing more than 4.5kg are common, whilst larger Trout weighing 10-13kg do get caught occasionally.
