Join us for this sweet experience as you're guided through the process to producing your own jar of luscious honey!
Perfect for families, our honey spinning experience offers sticky, delicious, educational fun for people of all ages!
Learn about why Beehives are designed the way they are, how bee colonies build honey comb and convert nectar into honey and how they operate seamlessly as a colony.
We’ll provide you with a frame oozing with exquisite natural honey which you’ll get to then load it into a honey extractor and wind the handle to make the frame spin, releasing the golden goodness from its waxy cell. Once enough has pooled at the bottom of the extractor you’ll get to open the Honey Gate and watch as your honey pours through a filter and into your very own jar.
Then all you have left to do label your jar and decide how’s best to eat your artisan honey!

I spent a few days in Queenstown and decided to visit the Buzzstop Honey Centre and Cafe. It was an amazing experience! Nick, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable about bees. He provided a fascinating history and detailed information about different species of bees and flowers. The workshop was very cool and educational. I felt like I learned a great deal about bees. The experience of spinning honey was particularly interesting, and the information about Manuka honey was enlightening. Buzzstop is a great place filled with a variety of honey products that you wouldn’t find in a supermarket. I highly encourage any honey lover to make a trip here. No regrets!
This experience was our highlight. We loved learning about bees and getting to take home a jar of honey with our photo on it was a nice personal touch. We stayed for a honey mead tasting and cheese platter, which were both delicious. There is also a huge variety of different flavoured honeys to try. We couldn't leave with out getting one. We were very well looked after and highly recommend popping in for a visit.
Spinning my own honey is absolutely an unforgettable and amazing experience. Nick is very knowledgeable to share with us about the bee history, habits and the detailed prosecutes to make honey. The cafe there also serve yummy food. You can stay behind to enjoy your meal there.
Activity was actually done by my family while I was off somewhere else but they really enjoyed it (Mum, 3, 1). Not sure on the value at full price but with the book me discount we were happy enough. Some other fun things for the kids too with bunnies and a trampoline at the cafe
