Established in 1999, Raglan Surf School are proud to be the country's original surfing school located in Raglan - the home of surfing in New Zealand.
Our team of experienced instructors are passionate about sharing their skills so even those who have never tried surfing before can feel the thrill of catching their first wave.
Our group surf lesson begins on the sand teaching you the basics of surfing and beach safety before getting kitted in a wetsuit and hitting the water. This is a perfect introduction to surfing for all beginner levels and class sizes have a ratio of 6 students to each instructor ensuring you get a quality lesson.

Great way to spend the day!
I did this surf lesson with my partner. Our instructor was super friendly and helpful. It was a small group so we got plenty of one on one time. Neither of us had ever surfed in our lives (my only experience was playing the Surfs Up game as a kid). It was difficult but so much fun! Thanks to the instructor, I was finally able to stand up on my third to last go. The wetsuits keep you nice and comfortable. Iād highly recommend this lesson!
