Built in 1904 for wealthy businessman and collector Mr. David Theomin, Olveston historic home is a treasure trove of fine art and artefacts purchased from all over the world.

The house and its contents were gifted to the City of Dunedin following the death of Mr Theomin’s daughter and the home was opened for the public to enjoy in 1966.

Avons tout particulièrement apprécié la visite guidée avec une guide qui a pris le temps de bien expliquer, qui a dialogue avec des termes simples pour faciliter notre compréhension et qui a partagé avec nous l'intérêt qu'elle porte à cette magnifique demeure . Olveston Guided Tour
Our tour guide (name unknown ) was very good and had a touch of humour - just right for a tour like this so I highly recommend this tour and it was inexpensive too so all up really good. Geoff Strang

Olveston Historic Home
I would highly recommend to give this a visit. It is foremost the most wonderful and pure example of living in the last century especially given that it is a real and living family that have done so as a,gift to Dunedin. It was,easy to book and get too. The guide was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the house contents and family. Very welcoming and friendly as we're all the staff. Thank you so much
