One for the bucket list! Discover New Zealand's largest mountain by helicopter combined with the excitement of a landing and heli-hike on the Tasman glacier.

The anticipation begins with your thrilling scenic helicopter flight which takes you over Aoraki/ Mt Cook providing some of the most breathtaking scenes New Zealand has to offer.

We then land in a remote area on the Tasman glacier for an exciting 2 hours of exploration led by your knowledgeable guide. You'll be provided with crampons (special ice spikes for your feet) and in Winter you'll have the opportunity to use crampons and/or try snowshoeing.

Soak up the magic of the glacier discovering amazing ice formations while your guide leads the way, cutting steps in the glacier as they go. The glacier is constantly changing so there is always something different to see each time.

The trip concludes with an exciting return scenic helicopter flight back to the Mt Cook base.

    The individual weight restriction for flying is per person is 116 kg.

    Drones may not be flown at any time.

Bad Weather Refunds

  • If your experience is cancelled by the operator (because of the bad weather, safety concerns, unscheduled maintenance etc) you will be entitled to a full refund.

    This a natural and ever changing environment. Ice features change constantly and no guarantee can be given that specific features will be seen.

    Due to the high demand for this experience, the changeable weather of an alpine environment and frequency of departures, bookings made via the Bookme system will be subject to a further confirmation which will specify the exact departure time. This confirmation will arrive via the email address made at the time of booking with Bookme.

    Presently, there is nowhere to purchase food at the Aoraki/Mt Cook Airport except for a small cookie box and bottled water. In order to keep your energy levels up, it is essential that you have eaten and hydrated well prior to embarking on your trip.
