Surf fun
Quick and easy to pick up suits and boards. A range of sizes and boards to suit all abilities. They researched tides and where the surf was best for the day which was super helpful being a novice. We damaged a fin being useless beginners and they were really sympathetic with the small fee they charged to replace it. I will be renting suits and boards before we leave CC at the weekend.

Dissatisfying experience
We rented two very nice surfboards and two mediocre wetsuits (a bit worn out, and two women’s suits instead of men’s+womens’s). The gear only was a 4* experience. However, the store does not have a procedure to block and release deposits on a credit card. The owner will ask you to leave your complete credit card information including the CVV number, allowing or anyone that gets a hold of these documents to perform arbitrary transactions on your account. This is a discouraged procedure (if interested, search for 'cvv in physical stores’). The alternative is to have a deposit of $500 per board charged on your credit card and refunded later. The problem compared to the standard procedure of blocking and releasing the money, at least for foreigners, is, that banks use different exchange rates for charging and refunding. For us the result was a $19 surcharge on a $70 NZD. In case you intend to question this procedure, be prepared to have to talk to the owner instead of the very friendly regular staff. Unfortunately, our experience was not that of factual but rather emotionally driven and at times disrespectful discussion.

Great price
I booked the day before and all went well. They didnt have any Medium sized wetsuit ready though so I had to make do with a wet one that was given back the same morning (clean but wet). It was ripped at the collar. The staff was friendly though. Thanks for a great opportunity to surf!

Peu de choix
L'équipe est sympa mais le choix en terme de planches est très réduit. Rien au dessus de 7'5 quand nous y sommes allés. La planche fournie à mon ami était donc inadaptée et il n'a absolument pas pu profiter de la location. Quel dommage. Ma planche à moi était très bien.
